Div 7 Firebird

It's the scheduled start time for today, but the major activity is everyone working hard to get the track dry.

Lot of heavy low clouds, but nothing big on the radar right now.

Forecast:
Cloudy with a few showers. High 57F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.

What's todays schedule ? Normal Sunday race or more qualifying and race Monday.
Inquiring minds what to know.

I'm going to head out at about 9:30 or so..

BTW, I have an extra ticket from yesterday and an extra one for today if anyone wants them.

Well, I headed home.. rain. And it looked like more on the way. No runs made, they called the stockers to the lanes but then the rains came again. Looked like another line on the way too.

Cool I'll make it a short work day and stop over at the track about noon.
Did they get any eliminations in today?

Re: Div 7 Firebird - Schedule

You can always find the daily schedule and near real time results at DRC:
Drag Race Central | Presented by Summitracing.com 1-800-230-3030

Eliminations are scheduled to start at 9:00am in the morning. Nhra was going to talk to the top alclhol racers to determine if there will be a second qualifing session tomorrow. All other class are set, but there are likely to be a lot of "No Shows". A bunch of first round singles are the norm.

Re: Div 7 Firebird: Time to go racing

Looks like a relatively clear and cool day for the rescheduled final rounds of eliminations.:D:D

Go here for today's schedule:
LODRS 7-1 - Phoenix Monday Schedule

Hey David... Did Duane Shields switch to a blown combo this year???

"Left Lane: Duane Shields Runs 5.292/274.16, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.330/266.48, Was #3
Right Lane: Chase Copeland Runs 5.444/268.12, Now #5; Best prior run: 20.128/50.53, Was #9

Johnny Ahten is on the bump spot at 10.614.

Now, that was beautiful! Blown vs. fuel and they both made strong passes to move up the ladder. Shields just misses the top spot."

I believe Chase is still in A/Fuel trim....soooooo????

Ah....no worries... just thought that would be an interesting story if he did switch...

Thanks for the updates this weekend.

The weather was great mondy, go figure. I had to leave at about 2:30 :(
Sucks about that S/ST? vette. Dont know if he lost the engine or a trans line or something but he made a hard left into the wall. Luckily the driver was shaken but seemed to be OK. At least it was early in the run and not at the top end. Maybe it was me, but the emergency crews seemed awfull slow reacting...

Anyway, I'll post up the pics I got a little later today :-)

He seemed to be ok, he rode back in the wrecker. I got some pics right before, during and after the crash. You can see smoke coming out from under the car and the cleanup went all the way to the starting line. Looks like a couple parts bouncing off the track in one pic but I cant tell what it is..

Are you going to post those pics?
