Way too much money is my guess, but I would spend it if I had itWhat is the all-in cost of a new NHRA Pro Mod car vs the cost of a new TAFC? For the closest comparison, let's say both run screw blowers.
Any good ballpark guesses?

Yeah pretty much any race operation.Best way to run a drag operation is to Hate $$$
Brand new, turnkey TAFC is over 200K, PM would be over 250 if not 300. A PM roller just costs a lot more, it's a more complex car because of the suspension front and rear, among other things. But, building them is the easy part. Now you gotta feed 'em!![]()
My guess is that it would cost to the same per car ready to race, I would think that the difference might be limits on how hard you are allowed to run the car and also the availability of races and levels of competition that are available to pro mods, 1/8 mile tracks cost a lot less on maintenanceYeah, I know there are other costs. Was curious about the all-in cost for the race car, and why there are more pro mods than tafc.
Unless NHRA or the few IHRA National races, the opportunities to race TAFC seem more limited. Aren't there more places an NHRA-legal pro mod can run besides NHRA and IHRA?
A brand new PM with a screw blown Hemi costs more than a new TAFC with the same powertrain. They're both expensive. Like I said, a PM roller is just more expensive than a FC roller. Costs to race these cars is another conversation, lots of variables. My guess is that it would cost to the same per car ready to race, I would think that the difference might be limits on how hard you are allowed to run the car and also the availability of races and levels of competition that are available to pro mods, 1/8 mile tracks cost a lot less on maintenance
