I bought my first camshaft ever from Chet Herbert Cams, 1982. talked to Chet personally....small block chevy cam with .480 lift.....soley responsible for the sickness I have today...addicted to speed God Speed Mr. Herbert....and my condolences Doug and your sister..

Sad indeed! We've said goodbye to another legend in motor sports. A great father, businessman, innovator and person was Chet! I e-mailed condolences to Doug yesterday and received a response shortly thereafter. What a tough time to say goodbye to yet, another family member for the Herberts? God be with you all. Your family is in our prayers.

I was excited to see Doug and his dad Chet building a land speed car to run together, and am very sad to hear this news. RIP Chet.
