Charlotte 4-Wide

Car was sold
She was driving for Duane Shields. Artie Allen bought the car and his daughter Sarah Allen is in the car. Dan Hopewell is still tuning it. Set a career best ET in Gainesville and career best speed in Charlotte. I do know they fixed up Jay’s pro mod for Madison to run in Top Sportsman. Made some hits late last year but haven’t heard any plans for the car this season.

I have noticed both Maddy and Toby have been running Super Comp this season. She ran Las Vegas and Phoenix. I could swear I saw Toby got into the final round of S/C recently, but skimming DRC I can't find where that might have been. Oddly, neither ran at Pomona as far as I can tell.
They were both entered in Super Comp in Pomona. Not sure if they ran but were on the entry list.

Madison ran that car in TS at the Snyder Classic and had a minor incident when the parachute grabbed the wheelie bar.
She told me "I'm officially a Payne now."

I would think Maddy and Toby would be a good fit for Top Dragster. That seems like a real "Go Fast" class that is easier on the budget than T/AD.

Easier on Paynes budget. 🤣😂😭. Years ago I was at a crap table with Jay, You have to be kidding.
The same night 2 guards stopped me from decking the pit boss ( that's another story) LOL

TAD has 14 entries. E1 was ran earlier. they ran (2) 3wides and (2)wides
do they take (2) winners from each race so they have (2) 4wides for semi's and a 4wide final?
...... in essence the (2) 3wide races only produce one loser in each?

Remember in grade school we had word problems for math?
Excellent new age math program

Anyone know if John Force is at the Charlotte track this weekend? Recall that he was surprisingly not at the Winternationals 2 weeks ago, but there was no word (that I heard anyway) as to why.
I didn’t see him today. I thought with Rick being at the track he would be there. I hope all is well.
LIke i said last year and got burned for it,i said he prob wont go to all the races,bc none of his family is racing anymore, just hired drivers.
That argument might hold water for Charlotte, but not for Pomona. For him to not be at Pomona suggests there are some health issues going on.
As anyone who has driven a fuel car will tell you, we make terrible spectators. More so for someone as successful and competitive as John. His cars are out there and his legacy lives on. There will never be another John Force ever! He deserves to rest! If you personally know someone who has experienced a TBI you are well aware they have good days and bad, John has no control over what kind of days he has. Finally second guessing and rumor mongering doesn’t help a damn thing!

John Force is the most famous man in drag racing today. When he does not appear at 2 races in a row - especially when there has been no comment or statement from his team - I think this is pretty significant and thus I think it is very reasonable to ask questions.

Also, I think he might just be resting up for his big 50th celebration in 2027. Apparently it's going to be a pretty big deal.

Shawn's front-end issue before the semis: Any association to Doug's failure last year? Or just an odd coincidence?

I felt so for bad for Ida Z. while watching her interview after her E1 loss. She got distracted and had a less than stellar light. Her interview sounding like someone desperately hanging on to a dream, and just about begged for her sponsor to hang with her.

I had a friend that had a TBI, happened at work, good days , bad days, then about a month ago it just shut off, RIP.

So Paul, what did you think of the 4 Wide?
I had a good time, trying to figure out which lane was which part of the ET scoreboard took a while. There's a ton of data and action being thrown at you at one time. The win lights were way easier to figure with the flashing lane light and the solid lane light. With the mist delay and the Tony Schumacher debate, I am happy with how quick it goes so I didn't have to miss anything before my flight last night. My wife and our friends and their kids loved it. We did the Dodge Charger drifting in the midway on Saturday which was pretty cool and added a different aspect to the event. The crowd on Saturday was impressive, I haven't seen that many people in the pits in a very long time, it was good to see. The weather was great all weekend, it was nice to have it a cooler yesterday. If our friends want to go back, I will go, but if they aren't coming I will pick a different track to go to. I was going to go to Joliet, but replaced that with 4 wide.

- 4 wides remain difficult to watch and disseminate all 4 lanes.
- 4 wide results on DRC are even harder to read. please, just have 1 thru 4 stacked, not all together in a run-on paragraph.
- rwr not experiencing a good start to the season. clay's tasty victory was a glimmer of hope.
- vandergriff also with first win in tasty challenge. IMO doing a great job.
- ida, ida, ida ..... smh
- another rear end failure. yikes.
- the stanfields are close, wondering why other elite PS's still lag behind?
- IMO spencer massey had a great race, and so did the bluebird turf cars.
- capp's napa livery this year is IMO awesome, especially w/crew behind it in winner's circle.
- dare i say the procks are getting incrementally closer?
