Charlotte 4-Wide

from my experience it has good and bad sides. the sounds are awesome but when 4 fuel cars leave the starting line and 1 smokes the tires or has something happen our brain automatically focuses on that one. by the time you look down track the run is over and you are trying to figure who won and who ran what.
Agree with this comment. I prefer two wide but don't hate 4 wide. Would continue to go if Vegas still had 4 wide but I'm not flying across the country to watch it. The biggest issue for me is having to translate in my mind the scoreboard as to who ran what and won rather than instantly knowing as on two wide.

I feel the same way. Grateful that I was able to see the 4-Wide the times we did. Likewise, if Vegas kept it and Charlotte didn't, I'm like you, wouldn't fly out there for it either.

Surprised to see Jeff Diehl is at Charlotte with his Funny Car. That's a long-ass haul from Salinas, CA for a low-budget racer.

I noticed Speedtech is no longer on the car. When they announced the deal at the end of 2024, it sounded like a potential two car team in the future. I always hoped Jeff could get some bigger sponsorship to run with the big boys.

Anyone know if John Force is at the Charlotte track this weekend? Recall that he was surprisingly not at the Winternationals 2 weeks ago, but there was no word (that I heard anyway) as to why.

What happened to cause the heavy right turn in the lights in Lane 3??

Tire tracks look like hard on the brakes then a HARD hook right

I didn’t see him today. I thought with Rick being at the track he would be there. I hope all is well.

4 wide is a show, but it goes by so quick. My wife and the crew I was with loved the speed of the show. The track is a top notch facility, I thought Joliet had large grandstands, this place is huge. Jury is still out for me with 4 wide. I need to see eliminations.

Today is the first time in a very long time I had to wait in a long line to park and to get into the venue.

For all you Top Alcohol Funny Car insiders, I see Mick Steele is racing his car this weekend. Is he still running his injected nitro combination? Or did he give up on that thanks to the NHRA rule change against the injected TA/FC cars last year?

LIke i said last year and got burned for it,i said he prob wont go to all the races,bc none of his family is racing anymore, just hired drivers.

That argument might hold water for Charlotte, but not for Pomona. For him to not be at Pomona suggests there are some health issues going on.

Is Madison Payne not running TAD this season? I haven't seen here out west or back east.
I have noticed both Maddy and Toby have been running Super Comp this season. She ran Las Vegas and Phoenix. I could swear I saw Toby got into the final round of S/C recently, but skimming DRC I can't find where that might have been. Oddly, neither ran at Pomona as far as I can tell.
