of course there are still builder/drivers today, which is why I also had the Johnsons (both sets!) in there as well as the Summit guys....but most engines today are leased and most drivers are hired guns

How stupid of Mopar take away the cash from AJ, Try to buy a championship w/ Elite. These idiots should have stuck w/ AJ and give him a 2nd funded car w/ a top driver or pay for V.Gaines to share info w/ AJ and or make them into a team. One car teams can't make it these days. Soon it will be a Camaro only class & It will die when the fans get totally bored.
This is bad for the sport.

Maybe what Mopar should've done is, first of all, supported Elite and then, secondly, Pro Stock in general.
Elite didn't fail nearly on the level Mopar did.

This about sums it up. Like I've said a million times before, it literally took Roy Johnson YEARS to get the Mopar to run at this level, so to think ANYBODY was going to go out and win a championship in 1 year with literally ZERO R&D time....................stupid. Absolutely stupid.

dodge left nascar after 2012?....now looking like no PS involvement.....yet the mid-priced dodge charger and sportier and higher hp challenger seem to be selling very well.....couple of websites comparing the 3 pony cars reveal ford outselling chevy and dodge last couple years. honesty, i'm not sure when nhra PS has made a significant difference in auto buying habits.....i think it's been a long time.

Well my thoughts on this are and I am sure a lot of you guys will have more details than I..............

If you were MOPAR and back in the 70's you followed all the rules, developed an engine and car, dominated Nascar and then were banned outright what you would have to be excited about.

Then around the same time you had a program in NHRA following all the rules and were so dominate they ADDED rules to slow you down so OTHERS could be competitive, What incentive would you have to proceed to develop better technology.

With that being said, MOPAR has announced some parts, such as stand alone programmers for street rod builders which seems to show they are slowly getting back into the performance arena.

Oh, and, remember Dodge has the two FACTORY stock, with warranty, highest HP cars on the market today, so I think they are serious about performance.

Not to mention they are by far the best looking.

Even though I'm a GM guy from way back, My favorite of the latest generation of pony cars is the Challenger. My brother bought one, and I've had a chance to drive it a bit, and reallllly like it.

The wife won't let me buy my own though.

That is really cool, the guy I sold the Cuda to, a numbers matching car, disassembled it and put the drivetrain into s Challenger shell. I wanted to cry.

They called the Omni a Challenger one year, didn't they? 74 or so
