Bob Glidden update? (1 Viewer)

Somewheres (not seen in years) I have one of him vigously attacking something with a pair of Vice-Grips on his Pylmouth Arrow at E-town.
When was the Monza used-I don't remember that one.

funny how jim says " we been doing this a long time" ,ya so has bob and his track record looks alot better

I read that too and couldn't believe the arrogance of Cunningham. Frankly...all he's ever done is burn money like there's no tomorrow. His cars are consistently way off the mark of the 16th qualifier even after he's spent "over 20 million dollars" of his own money. Insinuating that he can pick up where Bob left off is like me saying...."if the Cardinals don't resign Albert Pujols, no problem....I'll take his place in the lineup"! :D Come on Jim, don't even think about comparing yourself to Bob Glidden.

Maybe he will put ee back in the car so they can continue their stellar performance of not qualifying. You know what they say, "don't f^&% with a streak." Typical rich moron, more money than sense.

When Bob joined Cunningham's team he picked up nearly a tenth in adjusting/tuning what was already there.

I sure hope Bob recovers and ultimately lands with a Ford team. I'd love to see him with a DSR like budget while working on a Ford. Wouldn't that be great...again?!

I could see him with Larry Morgan or Justin Humpreys

I wonder why Glidden can't find a team he can work well with? Is it that hard to find people who are of the same mindset and work ethic as him? I have never met the guy but the guy seems to have devoted every second of his life up untill he retired on pro stock racing and look at what he achieved I would have thought a guy like him would be good to have around.

Bob is no different than Warren Johnson. They're both old school, blue collar racers. They both handle every aspect of the car from bumper to bumper. The business of fielding a competitive car is vastly different these days. Now there are specialists on various parts of the car, and frankly, teams set up like that are the ones that win. That goes against the grain with Bob. I realize Bob's most successful days were when he did everything on the car, but that business model doesn't win championships anymore. Funding and resources are more important than ever, and sponsor relations is where that all starts. Bob just wants to race.

I sure hope his recovery is full and speedy and that we see him back on the tour again. The class is not the same without Bob. He's the best the class has ever had.

First let me say I'm a big Glidden fan, his career speaks for itself. And, most importantly, above hooking up with another team, I wish him good health. On the other hand, while I didn't like what Jim apparently told Bob about "who drives his cars", this is another scenario where we don't know everything, and it doesn't matter. The fan in me wishes that it would've worked and Bob and Jim made a go of it. The realist in me says that life goes on, and let's not be so quick to bash Jim. There is only one Bob Glidden, but Jim does spend alot to participate, and from what's been said, was very instrumental in getting Ford involved in PS again.
