I'm another Sportsmen racer who is going to stick up for Bob, plus of course Alan, Leo, Lewis, and Unk (I'm not as familiar with some of the west coast announcers). These guys all know and love drag racing. And I think their love for the sport shows best when they are doing the Sportsmen classes. Not a lot of casual fans may know who the guys and gals driving in the sportsmen classes are or understand the different classes and types of cars, but these guys do and they do a great job of communicating their knowledge and love of these cars and drivers.

The D1 Banquet is this Saturday and I know that Bob Frey is going to have us laughing our asses off a whole bunch of times before the night is over. In addition, he is going to say a whole lot of nice things about the people who are walking on stage to get awards.

Plonski, you chose the wrong person to diss. As previously stated, since the passing of Steve Evans, and Dave (Big Mac) McCleland's retirement from NHRA broadcasting, Bob Frey is THE GUY when it comes to LIVE announcing, although on TV he's relegated to the NHRA Lucas Oil Sportsman broadcasts. If you are "at the track" he is doing alot of the broadcasting from the booth during National events, along with Alan Reinhart. If you don't like him, to each his own, but obviously from the tone of the majority of responses, you are barking up the wrong tree. You still are entitled to your opinion, just most aren't in agreement with you. Hang in there as we aren't throwing you under the bus, just giving you our feedback. Any other announcers you DO like? Or opinions on any burning issues right now? We are all ears.

Bob is obviously stuck in a time warp. And there are many different ways to voice his opinion.

BUT: "bob frey must go- now !!!" is way wrong.

I know they did on the 78 Worlds Strongest man show they quoted the "Down goes fraziah" bit but instead saying "Down goes putski" for Pro Wrestler Ivan "The Polish Hammer" Putski from the WWWF.

I'm clueless as to what the "World's Strongest Man" has to do with Bob Frey, but the VERY idea of him GOING, what with the doomsayers predicting the COMPANY'S (inside employees name for NHRA) demise would certainly speed up its collapse without Frey .

Betcha that Bob's homework to do his column, internet tidbits and prepping for a race weekend and so forth would EXHAUST the the critical sitti'n back watching "Pinks" /survival shows, etc. "Honey wouldja bring me another Bud" mentality crowd just trying it for a day.

The CREATIVE'S life is 24/7/365 and ALWAYS wondering was it?orI good enough for the fans/customers!

If you read real slowly, and use google, you might be able to figure out how Terry hijacks threads the way he does. I'm a student of his lojacking talent, and still, I have to study it.

Maybe if I had some popcorn to eat while I was studying this artform he's perfected...
