I always wondered what became of that project. I really dont know, but if it was a matter of weight I can't see how it could be heavier? Isn't just a different shape of the 4130? Also, I am not so sure that Amato ran this car with Lucas.

It takes more material to make a shaped panel that covers the same area as a flat one.

A lot of cars at one point switched to a one piece body. Some still do, including Clay's current car.

Lucas did run the body when he raced for Amato. He ran it in Reading. When my internet is back - ill post a photo with Morgan in the car!

The first time Morgan went down the track in a top fuel car, that body was on it. He got his license with it in Reading before his debut in Brainerd.
