Maybe I've been out of the loop, but what's prompting the change to go back to 6 disc clutches again? I thought they went out of favor a few years ago but I've heard about them on both broadcasts this year.

Some guys are doing it to have a more controllable clutch. More even wear and less heat.
I read somewhere that some teams have been experimenting with new pressure plates, with more fingers....anyone?

Same amount of fingers, but some are going with an 8 stand instead of a 6 stand. It has been 6 stand forever, then some guys started running 9, then guys switched back to 6, and now 8 has been coming around.
This is an example of a 6 stand , so you can also picture what an 8 stand would look like.

Same diameter even tho there is more of them?
I wonder what effects there are on the main bearings.
