This was kind interesting. Let's do it again.
Only 2 rules:
1. Absolutely NO racing-related people are to be listed whatsoever.
2. You must have met them in person and talked to them
.....and bonus points to those who can post pictures proving your claim.

OK....got quite a few music artists...but of those that are still pretty hot "today" Toby Keith and Tim McGraw....can dig pictures out and scan.......now what box are they in!? lol

Well, I was in radio for 15 or so years...really too many to mention. ;)

I've met a lot of famous people in the world of business, thanks to my former job. Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Steve Ballmer (Microsoft), Jack Welch (GE), Martha Stewart, Michael Eisner (Disney), Meg Whitman (EBay), Arthur Blank (Home Depot), John Chambers (Cisco), etc., etc. Can do this for a long time -- I was the guy in charge of Bill Gates's famous CEO Summit for a couple of years, so I met and had the chance to chat with dozens of famous CEOs.

Been a pretty good year:

Paul Tuttle, Sr.- Sao Paulo, Brazil a couple of months ago during the MotoFestival (had a great time with Mikey and Paulie Jr. as well)

Peter Gabriel- Yerevan, Armenia.. November. Very cool guy- has a tour planned for 2009 in South America.. we talked about it coming to the U.S., but he wasn't sure about the economy being in any shape to tour the U.S.

I have met sooooooo many famous musical artists that it is tooooo many to mention!!! But my favorites by far are when I got to introduce Loretta Lynn, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard and my most favoritist..........RINGO STARR!!! I got to touch my lips to Ringo's microphone.....his lips touched there!!! I am gonna faint all over again!!!

My head is still a bit foggy right now........I will tell ya more when I regain concion...............n.......e.........s.......s......s........ssssssss!!!!

Met Miley Cyrus (had to show her where the bathroom was on Tom Sawyer Island) and her dad Billy Ray while working her Sweet 16 show at Disneyland. Also spoke to Bob Iger (Chairman of the Disney Company) during the show. I had to direct him to a portion of the stage where our pyro wouldn't burn him.

Met the Jonas Brothers a few weeks ago also at Disneyland while filming them for the Christmas morning show. They were very courteous and respectful of all the crew and quite inquisitive about how our pyro systems work.

Years back my dad knew the owner of the Boston Bruins so when I was very young I got to meet most of the Bruins players from the early 1970's, including those on the 72 Stanley Cup team. Fast forward to the late 1980's while at the airport on a family trip we run into Bobby Orr, when my dad says hello, Bobby looks at me, hold his hand up just over waist level and says "Wow I have not seen you since you were this tall" and then shook my hand. The flight was open seating and Bobby and his wife sat right in front of us and talked and joked the entire trip to NYC. It was pretty cool to be remembered by one of you all time idols. Also saw George Plimpton and Connie Chung on that same trip, but did not meet them.

Bill Russell
NHL player Joe Thornton when he played for the Bruins.
Former Bruin Milt Schmidt and former Bruin and Canadien Tom Johnson.
Locally here in Boston I have met radio DJ Carter Allen who is credited by U2 as being the first DJ to play them in the States.

I am sure there are a few more but can not remember them right now.

When I worked for an upstate NY radio station I met Peter Frampton. Very short but very polite. The whole Orange County Choppers team. I used to live like 5 mins away from their shops. I'm sure they were sick of seeing me hanging around outside their shop. The late great legend of NY radio Scott Muny. Movie star Armand Assante. He lived near one of my jobs. Very nice guy. Johnny B. from the Jerky Boys. Very quiet and a very nice guy in person. Really excited to meet people who like his material. Was very impressed he remembered my name the next few times I saw him.

I do not have pictures but I served on the President's Y2K commission and did panel discussion groups with several well known politicians.... Same with IT industry events and some well known CEO/CFO types... I won't name names but I will comment that the only place as hot on earth as standing next to Tina Turner (according to someone else).... Is standing next to Carly Fiorina in a Vegas nightcub (in my opinion). ;)

Well, way back in the 70s, on my first trip to Las Vegas, I walked in a rest room at Caesar's Palace and was using the facility and none other than Howard Cosell walked up to use the urinal next to me--I said hi--and he said how are ya...my brief shining moment of fame...sad, ain't it?

My list includes Erik Estrada, Gordie Howe, Prince, Charlie Pride, Herschel Walker, Troy Aikman, Michele Kwan, Scott Hamilton, The Backstreet Boys, The Hanson Brothers, Daisy Fuentes, Too many NHL & hockey players/coaches/owners/GM's to list, Pantera, Three Doors Down, Pat Summerall & John Madden, John Tesh, Robbie & Evel Kneivel, Oksana Biaul, Constance Marie, Oprah, John Elway, Carmello Anthony and Bill O' Riley.

I work for a private air charter company, so there's even more names that I probably shouldn't list, for confidentiality reasons.

As far as famous people I haven't been that lucky.

I did meet radio hosts Paul Castronovo and Ron Brewer (Paul and young Ron) a few times, though.

Met Miley Cyrus (had to show her where the bathroom was on Tom Sawyer Island) and her dad Billy Ray while working her Sweet 16 show at Disneyland. Also spoke to Bob Iger (Chairman of the Disney Company)

LOL Mike i met the same three people when I worked for the Mouse in Orlando....must be the business :D....i came across quite a few people while i was there....Doug Flutie, Joey Fatone from N'Sync, the Rock, but prolly the weirdest was when i served Marilyn Manson his food

also met the producers from Jon and Kate plus 8 because they were filming in the park and I had to sign a waiver for my face to appear on TV in case they came in to the restaurant, but they never did....i missed my big break :o
