It's always been measured by the plate sizes, which of course have to fit/seal at the hole. Some good mathematicians calculate the size of the shaft that can't get out of the way like the plates do, so they just make the plate and hole size larger to stay within the spec.

Disappointing but not surprising NHRA didn't have the courage to employ performance restrictions in TF and FC. I agree with many of the keyboard crewchiefs that rolling these cars back 50 mph could be done without significant cost increases.

Yeah, that would be great TAD and the A Fuelers would be FASTER AND QUICKER, When better shut down areas and mainly better catch nets would elimate fatalities, sure would have at Raceway Park!!!
Top Dragster and Top Sportsman to be included in the 2009 rulebook...national standardization...could that be the second step in those classes becoming national event ready????
