Montoya is a racecar driver through and through. For him all this media stuff is a necessary evil he has to endure to do what he enjoys doing. He is an *******, but he is an ******* that can drive the heck out of a racecar.

Jacques Villenueve actually had it put in his F1 contract that he didn't have to do any media appearances at one point.

That being said, I do feel he deserves whatever the fallout from this is.

He has done two of the more impressive things I have seen in a racecar. His rookie year in CART at Gateway he was sideways almost every single corner and didn't wreck and a year later at Gateway in practice he spun coming off turn two, did a perfect 180, drove 1/3 the way down the back straight backwards, did another 180 (this time on purpose) and drove off like it never happened. Had to watch that one about eight times to believe what I was seeing.

Also, in my earlier post I don't want to make it sound like people who don't throw fits around the media aren't racecar drivers.

Juan Pablo has ran over every other driver in NASCAR in the short time he's been out there. He may be a good driver, but has zero patience, something that he needs to succeed in that form of racing.

This story coming out the same day as this story are all positives for the sport of Drag racing...................that is as long as potential sponsors don't read the NitroMater! DOH

i'm sure target isn't the only nascar sponsor who's driver has done similar.

we can only hope that nhra personalities one day have this problem.

I gotta admit I've told students I couldn't spend anymore time with them during office hours, but you also have to know that's been when it's a minute before my next class started and I had to run to get to it.

Doesn't Carlos understand that Target is NOT going to keep on paying him if he takes actions that are going to cause their customers go elsewhere to shop?

It's quite possible he had other appearances to make...offsite.
Like JPM said, he did a number of them beforehand...I sure Crandell woulld be asking the same questions as previous media did - over and over again..it's redundant.

Not a big fan of JPM, but I don't have a problem with how he handled himself..and I still shop at Target.
