So I'm watching at 5:20 on Thursday and I can hear what sounds like cars in the background maybe on the road course.

Probably over at Bondurant, sometimes they'll use the road tracks to stretch out a little bit. Generally speaking, there's really no events during the week so anything going on is usually "work" related.

I heard that too. Looked up the facility on Google Earth to see a couple different round tracks at the same venue. They must've been racing at the same time of the test sessions today.

Yes, the Bondurant school is directly behind the grandstands I am shooting from. There was a lot of activity on Wednesday on the road course, and some on Thursday for the defensive driving area.

The lack of oildowns during these test passes, has been impressive and hopeful that this could transfer over to National Event competition.

Crew chiefs looking at the weather stats, and comparing them to average Pomona conditions, although the altitude is radically different. Should be a flock coming out soon; I see JR in the lanes, and the air is SoCal cool and basically moist for the desert, especially with the storm front coming in from the west that was in LA yesterday. Good first round conditions this morning,

It seems unusual for a test session that we are seeing so many full or 900' pulls. Anyone know why this would be more common this year?

I always seem to remember 1000' pulls being the bench mark in the 1/4 mile days. Maybe they are running them until the they hit "the box".
