"I always seem to remember 1000' pulls being the bench mark in the 1/4 mile days. Maybe they are running them until the they hit "the box". "
I recall in more recent years many teams doing mostly 60' launches only, as that would tell the Crew Chiefs most of what they needed to know. No sense running them out the back door and risk hurting parts.
