I saw where NHRA was open for last minute entries as late as Mon-Tues of this week. They only show 60 cars in Super stock and 50 in Stock!

I'm just guessing here, but it might still have something to do with the economy...

Darr, I thought you were gonna say they all switched to Nostalgia FC's! But to the point...Gainesville had FAR more sportsman entries, and that was 2 months ago?

Are there any top fuel cars that have not made a pass yet? Will they fill the field?

I suspect there are-if you are a TF or FC team on a limited budget, why make a run on Friday? They only take the top 12 times.

And the Winternationals had many more, Atlanta is hardly next door to Gainesville, but all of motorsports is hurting for full fields, get used to it... ;)

Except for Nostalgia Nitro Funny Cars, Joe, there are plenty of NFC's to put on a show! :D

Not only were the car counts low .....but WOW did you see the stands:eek: Fri night session I saw major gaps in the stands on both sides of the track,as well as were the sat. sessions. I personally know twenty plus people that canceled because the "brains" have now sold the camping area. I know that atl. is not a great venue but at least two of these people have been to all but the first race at this track and these twenty plus would not have filled the gaps I saw on the broadcast. But these people running this track keep shooting the fans in the foot year after year.
I just hope when they move this race to south Georgia the new track personnel appreciate fans a little better.

sorry for the rant but I was looking forward to see some old friends at this race

I looked at Topeka entry and you can still enter most of the Super categories as of last week.....usually unheard of. I will be missing the race for only the second time since it opened in '88. I really hate to, but money is just too tight and the NHRA has made it too hard/expensive to get up there. I really miss seeing all the racers, and HPT has a great set-up now with the showers and plug-ins...but just cant swing it. Maybe next year.

I'm still waiting on you and Jeff Burk to write NHRA's obit....
