Not so with Pomona. Those houses almost across the street in LaVern were there long before someone decided to hold drag races in the fairgrounds parking lot.

Not so true, Pomona was in the middle of nowhere for a long time.
there is residential housing quite close to the fairplex.
my friend jeff's parents live in those houses and love drag racing. However, As they often remind me, there is only racing TWICE A YEAR. Still racing past 7 tonight could be dangerous. With the moisture in the track will get damp, and that could get ugly...especially for pro stock and the tafc guys. Why do people move next to a racetrack and then whine about noise?
If they hate it so much, they should give me their house... I LOVE the sound of racecars in the morning and at night.![]()
So, I should ignore the current scenario and remove my post for posterity? Before the drag racing school was closed the race track was alive more than three weekends a year...
another question: why hasnt this been postponed til next weekend? All we're getting is hardly any sportsman/super class runs, hardly any pro runs, a bunch of chunked tires, and wasted TV time.
We're cool Terry. People have been moving next to industrial areas, airports, Air Force Bases, sporting facilities and the like for centuries and immediately thereafter they start whining about the noise, traffic and inconveniences. It wasn't until recently that our political morons were self serving enough to listen to them however. I sit in City Council meetings often in my line of work and one resident with a bug in his shorts can stop development in it's tracks despite conforming to the general plans, City staff's recommendations and common sense being applied. I, for one, believe that's wrong - but, I'd make a very poor politician.Bobby...
Sorry as I did not mean to post on top of yours.
I knew what you were saying and people should know what surrounds them when purchasing a home..

I have always believed you should be able to do what ever you want with the land you own. If the people around you don't like it they should have three choices, buy you out, live with it, or move.
