What's with this new reverser thing?

That's funny I'm old enough to remember direct drive, no reverser, and no starter and the T/F cars were 1000lbs lighter and 100mph slower.

I remember watching a rear engined digger go down the strip for the first time in Kansas City, thinking "Man, that just looks odd!!"
