Even with the turmoil in round 1 with Wilkerson's reverser Bob was laying down a solid pass until he ran out of fuel. After having to switch car bodies he laid down another solid pass. I can't imagine how much confusion this created for the team, but they sure pulled it together.

Hi Kent, It looked like it was going to run about a 4.15 or 4.16. It was a pretty soft boom so it only blew the windshield out of the body and did some body damage, but it didn't hurt the block. We had a couple of our crew guys that was in Houston working on an ADRL Pro-mod this weekend so we had a couple guys filling in for them and they did an awesome job. The biggest problem was that our Toyota body was still up in the top of the trailer with the wing not mounted on it. But we have to give a lot of thank's and credit to James from Jim Dunns team and the crew from Jim Head, Bill Miller, and Tim Wilkersons team, because with out their help it would have been tough to make it back for round two. After the race was over we found out that we won our second hardest working crew award. Times like this is when you realize that we are all one big family out here. Going to the semi finals also put us in the top 10.

Hi Eugene,

So which body style do you think you will stick with? Toyota or Impala. It looks like both are working.

We have been wanting to test the Toyota body again and we got our chance. Maybe we should pull the Monte Carlo down out of the rafters and bring it back out LOL. Wally changed the whole clutch management system on Sat night and it seems to have widened his tuning window. If we can keep this car in the teens then we can run with big teams. I think we would have only needed a 4.14 to have beaten Hight in the semi finals.

Next to Tim Wilkerson, Bode is one of my favorite Fuel Flopper pilots out there. Glad to see them running so well, I hope it continues...

Congrads to the team for a solid performance! Gene saw ya on the TV... Looking good. Missed you at the Big March Meet BPIR race this weekend...

Take care...

After their round 1 victory, Alice Bode got as much ESPN exposure as Bob and the car....not a bad thing, of course. :)

I like Hight just fine but man, I was rooting for you guys to take him out. Go get 'em in Charlotte.

Eugene,
Noticed you were next to Alice and got some face time on TV. Good move on your part cuz I know we were all yelling "I know that guy, I know that guy!!"
Doug and Blaine and Laura

Man, any team that let's us see Alice and her "ensambles" has to be on an upword spiral !!!!!!!!!!.................................E

Hey Eugene, love the Stupid Fast Paint scheme! Bet it sells a lot of apparel for the sponsor! See you in Houston!

Great weekend for us!

Despite having some new people filling in on the crew, we managed to give Wally a race car to work with every time. Props to all on the crew this weekend.

The coolest part of the day was rolling into the pit after first round and seeing at least 12 crew guys from other teams waiting to jump in and help.
Without them I don't think the car would have made second round, it was like a swarm of bees hovering over the pit area.

I remember Bill Millers bottom end guy Adam ducking under the car and saying "are you good on the bottom?" I said I'm good! That was awesome knowing he had my back if I needed.

Big thanks to all those guys who stepped in from BME, Head, Wilkerson and Dunn. It puts a lump in my throat when I think about what they did for us.

Hi Mike,

I heard you got all that help in the pit because you are a celebrity and they just wanted to hang out with a movie star like yourself. We hope to See you on Pass Time on the SpeedTV April 4th.

Really, I am impressed with how close all you racers become through the years of competition.

It puts a lump in my throat hearing you tell the story....love the competition, but love the comradery and "family" aspect too!

Great job Bode Racing....keep it going!!

Was really great to see you get some rounds in. I was whooping it up for you guys!!!

After an eventful first round win, sincere gratitude and thanks go out to all the guys that stepped in to give us a hand, Bill Miller's crew, Jim Head's crew, Jim Dunn, and Tim Wilkerson's crew. Thank you again you made it easier to get to that second round win.

Thanks , Rich

Great job this weekend guys. I think one of the reasons everyone was so willing to help besides the tradition of that spirit, is the class your team showed waiting as long as possible for Wilk to try to make it to the line in the first round even to the point that it eventually ran the car out of gas and caused the boomer. Congrats to you all. BTW the souvenir trailer looked steadily busy all weekend.
