He was hit in the back of the head by debris from Balooshi's boomer last night and airlifted to a local hospital.
I haven't seen any updates on his condition. Paul Page only said he was alert and talking. But, that is a standard response.
I just hope he's OK.
I believe his name is Raleigh (sp?) Miller.

Where was he standing when he got hit??

Confused or being sarcastic Brent?

Seriously guys ... an NHRA employee (doesn't really matter who it was) gets injured and we make sarcastic jokes about helmets? Could have been a lot worse.

This the second serious trackside incident (at least that I am aware of) involving a bystander at an NHRA event in the last 2 weeks.
I was really wondering about it, but being sarcastic at the same time. If he wasn't wearing one, why not? And if he was wearing one the debris must have hit him lower on the head where there wasn't any protection. I'm glad to read he's going to be fine, it easily could have turned out much worse.

He was standing at the start of the curve on the side road after the 660 cones, probably at 800 to 900 feet downtrack on the left side of the track.

I am glad he's doing better as it took a long while to get him into the ambulance .
