Bob Motz has been upgraded to Stable Condition following a huge fire Saturday at a Thunder Jam exhibition show at Kanawha Valley Dragway.
The 2007 Night of Fire was supposed to be a night of fun, but on Saturday night it took on a very literal and dangerous meaning! Bob Motz was in his truck at the starting line going through his normal routine when fuel started to leak from the truck causing it to catch fire.
He suffered second and third degree burns and was airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital’s burn unit. He was in critical condition Saturday night. Sunday afternoon a hospital spokesperson says he has been upgraded to stable condition. A track worker and crew member were also hurt and suffered some minor burns, but both are expected to be okay.
