Bob Vandergriff is obviously still "VERY" upset about his 2nd (part time) driver leaving. I guess that he is even more upset because every time he has raced against him Bob has lost. I'am not sure but I don't think he has got out of the first round for quite a few races. Drivers leave teams to go to another all the time, but, for Bob it sounds like a major - major - major issue. To say that Todd is the driver he hates the most is out of line for a person that is regarded by I don't know who, as a major player in T/F.
Bob needs to 'GET OVER IT' and move on and stop driving at the end of the year like he has said he would. It won't be a loss, anyone with an attitude like his should quit.

Yeah I saw that, it was a little much. I get that he was hopefully basing his plans around him driving for the next for few year but I mean those were some harsh words. Maybe it's something else we dont know about?

Terry, the interview that they showed on ESPN this weekend was from when it happened, it wasn't anything new, ESPN just replayed it. People aren't robots and have emotion and you are ripping on Bob for showing emotion and it looks like he hurt your feelings. Just in case you have been asleep, the sport doesn't need anyone to quit and we should be thankful people like Bob want to invest their time and efforts with the sport.

shewww... and here I thought Dixon was out... just read yesterday about Dixon's upcoming plans then saw this.... it's drama people.. TV loves drama so why not promote it when BV has to run against Todd

Also, in that repeated interview, I don't think BV said he hates JR, but he's at the top of the list of racers that BV wants to beat when they line up. Whether Bob keeps driving or not, we need him and more guys like him in the sport.

I agree people are not robots and have emotions but Bob can't seem to let it go that J.R. left his camp. There is no way he could hurt my feelings, better people have tried and it hasn't worked. I've been involved in racing as a car owner in T/F, Top Gas, Junior Fuel, Super Comp and the old A/Modified Roadster classes since the late 50's when we used to race both the 1/4 and 1/2 mile at Riverside and have seen what has gone on and are very aware of the state of drag racing today.
As far as "we should be thankful that people like Bob want to invest their time and efforts with the sport" is BS. I realize NHRA is having a major problem getting 16 cars in each of the Pro classes and that is going to continue until big changes are made at NHRA, with or without Bob - hopefully without. He is nothing but a big spoiled a##. Just ask the people that have driven and worked for him in the past. They are all very happy because they are on better teams now. I just hope that Larry Dixon is not just another racer for Bob to trample on.
I don't understand why people keep saying that we need him and more guys like him in the sport - we don't. We need people better than him to represent the sport.

Terry you clearly are privy to personal information no one else is, otherwise you wouldn't have this one sided negative view of Bob and the way you accuse him of trampling people. Sounds like the ESPN interview has you on your high horse, but you fail to recognize that the interview was from back in April when the move first happened, if you were in his shoes you wouldn't be happy either. Bob hasn't said anything since that interview that I have heard. What's wrong with saying driver "XXXX" is at the top of your list of the ones you want to beat?

Do not dismiss Terry's words. He knows what he is talking about. After all, BV is "The Commadore". At least in his mind.

Really don't care what Vandergriff has to say. Only two things better than being on the trailer after the first round, DNQ and no-show. Vandergriff got Millican, Todd got Vandergriff, and only Millican took the high road.

Who wouldn't want to have a full time ride on Connie Kallita's team? Hello? McFly?

It was a no brainer for JR Todd.

It is not what Todd did that was wrong. It was how he did it. Sooner or later Connie will get fed up with his act, like the others before him.

Care to elaborate on his 'act' or the 'others' that were fed up with it in the past?

As I can recall with Todd's 1st ride, Tuttle ran out of funding (Skull Shine/Knoll), he then went to MLR and Lucas made the decision to give Todd's ride to his childhood friend (Langdon). Finally, BVR/Todd couldn't come up with full time funding and Todd accepted the Kalitta ride on a Sat night when Connie called half way through qualifying at LVMS.

Seems to be pretty clear and reasonable to me, unless you were also on the phone with Todd/BV that Sat night they discussed parting ways.

Given the amount of drivers on the sidelines waiting or hoping to drive, I don't understand the Vandergriff/Todd deal. Was a certain sponsor planning to come over to BVR if JR Todd was his driver?

Only spoiled a$$ action I saw was from Steve Torrence pitching a throw your toys kick fest in the shutdown. -smile-

"Forgive me a cruel chuckle." - Prince John in Disney's Robin Hood

LOL. Yeah that was pretty pathetic. I think I outgrew that type of response when I was 13...

who cares, it's a money thing, what isn't.....todds obviously have money to go racing and will spend at the best opportunity.
larry mite be a better fit rite now for bob anyway$

I don't know why Bob V. would be mad at Todd, sure he said he had plans for him, but the Kallitta ride was a right now solid ride. I haven't heard why Clay Millican left. That didn't sound like a friendly split up. I haven't talked to my usual contacts lately. But did hear some interesting things about Edwards, not to be repeated.
