There are those that get us Brits a bad name I guess Joe, I'm not allowed to name any names tho or I get my wrist slapped by the mater powers from above!

I think you'll find most of us that travel to the US will not let it deter our travel in any way. We're all already made to feel like criminals every time we pass through US homeland security's passport control/immigration as it is. Honestly at times its like a little interrogation, and I've never known anything like it anywhere else in the world, but at the end of the day I like travelling over there and I've got nothing to hide, so there is no problem. I just take it as one of those things you have to go through at the end of an 11 hour flight and it very much depends on the particular officer on the particular day.

I don't like the idea of anyone invading my privacy for no reason, but if its something which has the knock-on effect of keeping me safer while I'm in the air then its something which I'm willing to put up with.

Really the only people who are going to have a problem with this are people who have something to hide and those of us who are generally law abiding people going about our daily lives have nothing to fear. Its just a shame that anyone feels they need to use the Big Brother tactics.

I'm no security expert in any way, but my guess is it's in response to the number's of suspicious Muslim's who fly in and out of London's airport to America and other country's. Muslim extremism has been on the Rise in the UK for years, if the London bombing or Airline bombing scare don't point that out what does.

Telegraph | News | US 'licence to snoop' on British air travellers

There are more British armed forces than any other country fighting alongside American armed forces in Iraq & Afghanistan, and this is how the United States authorities are going to treat British tourists arriving in the US.

Whatever happened to the special relationship that's existed between our two countries since World War II.

I wouldn't take it personally, John. When the last terror plot was thwarted, I believe it was at the London Airport.

Personally? I think everyone on the planet should be thankful for any and all 'snooping' . The world we live in today has a whole bunch of people who want to kill other people. I have nothing to hide, so snoop away.

The problem with the slippery snoop slope or any other freedoms we give up for security is those who will abuse it. A lot harder to get it back once the government has it.

I think they've probably been scheming to take back over for the last few hundred years, that they never got over the Revolutinary War. You can see it in their eyes. First thing they'd do is have us put the "u"s back into certain words. ;) :D

And what the hell is this I hear: Prince William's girlfriend got a PARKING TICKET !!!!

At least it didn't happen over here. She might find herself doing community service by throwing out a first pitch somewhere. Could break a nail. :D
