This is all about fan vote right? Then it should be done and Brandon Bernstein and Courtney Force are the winners. Now what's all this about the lottery tomorrow? If they are not the winners based on the fan vote, why the hell was it a fan vote?

The fan vote means nothing Pat. I mean the driver with the most votes does NOT become the 8th car. Every driver that was in all the races gets their name in the drawing.

As has been stated, the driver with the most fan votes gets the most chances in the lottery.

It does seem unnecessarily convoluted ... either make it a fan vote or don't. Courtney crushed the fan vote, if anyone but her wins you have alienated a bunch of fans.

So what the hell was the point of all these racers campaigning? To annoy people? It's pointless then. Thanks Traxxas.

You know...it's funny people say the same about the presidential election with there being no real point of voting with the electorial college. Looks like NHRA fans now have 2 elections that may not matter even when "the people" chosen a clear leader. Anyway, Brandon and Courtney should be in done deal, I actually feel offended that I voted. So the driver gets more "lottery balls"; great so after a fan vote it's now basically a game of roulette! The results should of been hidden at all times and just announced tomorrow instead of this crap. The fans did the work now thank them with a bitc* slap!

That's my biggest objection to this deal.

I have NO INTEREST in joining Facebook.

I don't want to FOLLOW anyone (nor be followed by anyone) - The entire concept of Facebook and Twitter and most of social media is either silly or creepy (or both).

'Course, I'm old and cranky and COULD be wrong but, that's a pretty important demographic for NHRA.

Yer excatly right Pat. It's just a clever way to con folks into joining FB.

if it's done correctly it would be live on video tape (video to post online)

here's 20 ballots for courtney (show someone dump 20 ballots into a cage)
here's 12 ballots for wilk (show someone dump 12 ballots into a cage)
and so forth.....roll/shake the cage and pull a name.
fair

your vote counts whether for something as silly as this shootout
or the presidential election; don't think otherwise.

I agree your method would be nice. But you are mistaken about the fan vote counting. A "VOTE" in this country means the one with the most votes, WINS". That is NOT the case here. Force could have 99% of the vote, yet every driver that competed in all 16 races gets in the drawing, even with NO votes.
So a driver with NO VOTES could be drawn as the 8th car. (under this system.) I hope it happens just to expose the system for what it is.

NHRA can run this how ever they want, I just don't like the fans being mislead.

Sorry, but the only fans who are misled are the ones that do not read or don't take the time to listen......simple as that!! The selection process has been in writing since day one. ;)

And how many fans do you think actually read it? It shouldn't need to be read. I am pretty sure I am not the only one feeling 100% misled.

Patrick,

You didn't pay attention to the contest rules and that's somehow somebody else's fault?

That's the NEW funniest thing I have read on the Mater!

If it was stricktly a fan vote, then nobody would have had a chance against Courtney. I bet Tasca, Hagan, Alexis and Wilk (just to name a few) are pretty happy with this. At least they have a chance. And the more they get their fans to vote, the better their chance.

Alan
