Just got an email from NHRA announcing Tom Compton's "retirement" with Peter Clifford taking over as new President.

When will the truth come out, if ever?

I do hope Tom and his family are well now and in the future. As an NHRA fan, now that he is no longer a part of the organization, the details are not an element that I will even worry about. But, I do hope this will lead to a new chapter for the sanctioning body.

He "retired" before he was fired, I'm guessing. Eventually the truth will come out.

The next shoe to fall will be finding out what golden parachutes or retirement bennies will be awarded to the departed.

Does it really make any difference? AFAIC, Mr Compton's retirement has made any problems either he or his family might be having officially non of our business.

I wish him and his family good luck, and hope all is ok.
