No Chris, you misunderstood. I don't mean cut out then back on. Just cut out at what ever distance they need to run their number, and stay off, coast to the stripe.

I actually had my best National Event outing running this way. High gear throttle stop, no delay box and lost a close double break-out to Slavinksi in the semi's. Bought all the cool sh!t a month later and never went further than 4 rounds after that! Lol!

I runner-upped twice in my 15 sec Omni GLH at E-Town , once against a 10 second Duster on the handicap tree.....I lost because I didn't run my own race, thought I was going to break out, panicked and stepped on the brake at the stripe and he whizzed by me to take the win... but that's racing!
If I got my trophy with electronics it wouldn't have the same meaning for me as the second place one on my shelf has had all these years

I've always thought that since the ( _.90) super class guys need to have a degree in weather science to run the number consistently , the best way to even the field is to draw a random number within +/-.25 of the .90 standard for each race. Almost every car is capable of running the _.90 number, and 90 % of the participants can come within probably .05 of the index on their first hit of time trials, so why not give every race a moving target. Yes, it is still going to involve throttle stops, but at the very least, it's going to make everyone work a little bit harder to run closer to the index.
