I actually think there will be several teams that are going to be tossing around the Wally's early on. But eventually, all of the chemistry issues that come with forming a new team of any kind will be worked through and Alan Johnson will once again set himself and his team apart from the pack and the new reign of domination will commence.

Remembering Tony's comments about the Kalittas makes me believe they will be minimal remarks when compared to what they may say in the Army camp about Alan's operation - especially if they don't beat them early and often.

That's right, Kevin... the bullcrap STOPS when the right foot DROPS! :D
Fair warning though - Don't y'all count out my man Dougie Kalitta just yet.

I still honestly think DK will "be there" in the bucket come September. And right now, anybody who's "discounting" anybody is a fool in my eyes.

GO TEAM KALITTA!

i mentioned this in a different thread, but this is a little more "on topic" than it was in that thread :)

I think the more interesting potential rivalry will be in FC between Matt Hagen and Ashley Force.....

they are both the same age and they are the two "youngsters" of two big teams.

I just don't see it. Ok, Alan used to be Schumacher's crew chief and now he has his own deal with a proven champion driver. Big deal. I'm sure they will race each other a lot and they will probably be the only two to win events this year, but I just can't get too excited about this rivalry. Comparing this match to Muldowney vs. Garlits, or Snake vs. Mongoo$e is a real stretch. It takes a hell of a lot more than just racing each other every week to have a real rivalry. I get the feeling somebody is simply trying to manufacture something else to make the sport look better. Just like manufactured drama and World Champions.

Comparing a possible Dixon vs. Shoe rivalry to the former rivalries of the past years is meaningless. Dixon vs. Shoe hasn't happened yet. I think most of are saying however IT would be very good if it did. And even better if a 3rd guy got into the mix. I know that's what I'm saying. I think to much of my interest on Sunday's is in Funny Car and it would be nice to change that a bit.

Good article Bobby! This is some good potential.

is this some sort if taboo topic or something.... cause both times that I have brought it up it has been completely ignored :)

I mean really nobody else sees the potential for this :confused:

I think the thing to do is wait for a few races to see how things shape up. Reading some of the posts here, you'd think the smart thing for other T/F teams to do would be to not show up at all, let the Schumacher team and Al-Anabi Racing duke it out. Then draw straws for 3rd through 10th and save a ton of money in the process.

C'mon.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Everyone seems to be ready to divide the spoils between Shoe and Dixon. A few other racers might take issue with that attitude.
