This isn't about the fuel, but Lori--It was GREAT MEETING YOU in Topeka, Thanks for coming over, to Terry Larsen too!!!

Now about the fuel, it's all relative. It changes the budget a bit, but you just compensate for it. It's not easy, but Leif Andreasson from Europe told me they pay $7.50 a gallon and us Americans have had it easy. So, I'm sure they are going to get us up higher in price before it's all said and done, if we knew how to change it, I'm sure we would all try, but we don't, so.......just have to build it in when we race.

Rob call Jody Davis 480-216-3739 Torco
Its also available at Speedworld and Firebird

I have always supported products/sponsors that support Drag Racing, and VP has been one of them. But I am seriously considering switching as my way of protesting. I know they won't miss the $50 - $100 a month I spend, and they won't care that they lost me, but maybe, just maybe I will get an extra minute of sleep for it. Anyone know of Sunoco or Torco dealers in Phoenix that might want my money?

I know we have had it easy for many years, with food as well. I can't believe the cost of groceries.
I went to Bermuda last year, and fuel cost converted from the metric system was about 7.00 a gallon. However, that didn't happen to them overnight, and it seems that is what is happening here. It has steadily been going up ever since I have been driving, but when it is in .20 or .25 increments, it gets a little hard to compensate for. We are seriously considering a layoff at our company due to the cost of diesel. In over 30 yrs in this business, that has never happened. We just can't absorb it any longer, but can only 'pass along' so much to our customers. The consumer is tired of it too, but we have no choice.
If this is the way it is, then I will learn to compensate, it just seems like such a big increase in such a short time frame. I hope all the teams can adjust. I have tickets to 3 more national events, and don't want to have less than full fields when I get there.
PS~~~It was nice to meet you too. You look just like your picture. I hope you had a good weekend even though you went out early in the race. So did my family member. We still had a good time. When do you race again Nancy?

read between lines......
VP - mr. nitro mfg., if we can't get more nitro soon, we'll lose our big cash cow
back in the USA

Mr. Nitro Mfg. - ok VP - we'll get your supply, but it's a rush job and you'll pay more.

VP - uhhhhhhh, OK we'll take it.

now i read on another thread that some of kalitta cars will only be warming
up with alchol?

attn: VP - you've already ruined the show.
attn: NHRA - wake up and get someone in there who can deliver sans drama.

After all that has been said and done..then to do this makes me wanna puke.

I've done my best to not trash NHRA..but to put up with this is just..oh well nevermind..@#!^%$*&

When will the ADRL be coming to Brainerd? Less of a soap opera and all i wanna see is cars go down the track for crying out loud not a (insert word here) contest.

They played that on TV last weekend....

The Kalittas have hung true to the "old school" warm ups, which are great...noise, noise, and more noise--people that don't know what's going on jump 2 feet in the air, noise noise, more noise, people jump again, and then you can run down to the next Kalitta car and get to do it again! Best warm-up in the pits...Well, it was! I know a few people that make it a point to hit as many Kalitta Style warm up's as possible.

I took my 74 year old father to the NHRA testing at Firebird at the beginning of the year. He'd never been to a race where nitro cars were running. He was baptized when I took him over to Scott Kallita warming up his DSL funny car in the pits. I swear I've never seen him jump higher or smile bigger in my entire life then when Scott wacked the throttle the first time. Simply priceless!

I'm going to be very interested to see how warming up a fuel car on alky works! No gas masks, no crew holding the car down, no green cloud and no hits on the high side - Fans are not going to like this . . . it's gonna be vewy, vewy, qwiet!

Not worth the price of admission in my book considering the cause. This season is certainly interesting. Next season will be even more interesting I'm afraid.

Chuck is an awesome guy, I always bring home a few jugs of his stuff when ever I go on vacation to Speedworld. :D He was signing off on my license until I blew the motor, that was a year ago, I need to go see him. Thanks for the number Bobby!

I think you guys missed the point of the price increase. It is directed at Don and ProNitro. If you read the letter from VP all he keep saying was "Sell us your Nitro and all will be OK", well Don has not sold his stock of nitro and all is not well at VP. So, I believe the racers are going to have to pay more (and that includes Don) so VP hopes will have the racers put pressure on Don to get him to sell his stock of nitro to VP. I believe that this is a powerplay of who is incharge of the nitro business in NHRA land. It's starting to look to me that VP is going to make everybody pay until they get things back to normal. (They are the only nitro supplier in town.)

Just my 2 cents, I may be wrong..:)

easy solution

Don undersales or at a small profit even barrels to the racers this weekend. There is no way NHRA is going to tell all of them they can't race because they don't have VP.
