I was curious as to what happened to Chris on Sunday. I was listening on all access and apparently the car surged when in reverse causing people behind the car to scramble. I've always worried about an incident like this happening. Thanks

How is a stuck reverser Greek's fault as the driver?
Maybe the equipment failed.
I'm just glad the car didn't move any further than it did.
And I'm really glad the crewman was not hurt any worse than he was.

If you see none of his crew go near the car while he's in it, then that would be the time to hang it up...but not only are they in there, he has the help of a good sponsor

so here's to witnessing the first Nonagerian to pilot a 10,000hp Top Fueler!

top that one NASCAR!

I believe the good sponsor is the company he owns..........they build hydraulic presses, A friend of mine works for Worthington cylinders and he goes out to his shop all the time to spec presses. I have asked to tag along but no go.............

If you remember, Forest Lucas said as long as CK wants to drives his car he will sponsor him for the rest of his life.

You are thinking of Luigi (national machine). The Greek is sponsored by Lucas.

I wonder who is the oldest racer out there? Any class. There was a fellow who ran Pro Mod, maybe 2 years ago, was 87, got into a crash & decided to hang it up. I know there are lot of sportsmen racers in their 70's & very capable of winning. Like Don Enriquez in JR/F in the heritage series.

I read somewhere that Capt. Jack is 90? and planning on bringing out the GoKart this summer for a few runs

That's why l say no one should touch a race car once fired up. All this pushing, body lifting, wheelie bar adjustment, and standing in front is an accident waiting to happen.

If you don't start them at all, there will never be an issue.

I know the guy lifting the body on a F/C is risking his life multiple times a day..............

That's why I never volunteered to lift and lower the body on The Invader NFC I helped with. Instead I pulled the mag wire and got out of the way.
Just a slight touch on the throttle linkage is all it takes for the car to jump several feet.
