The Bigma has arrived!

Yeah I gotta say those Pics looked good to me as well! But I never sit down track so I won't ever get those kind of pics! One thing some Bigma Photogs have told me is take Multi-pics of Everything. One pic always looks better than the rest.
 
Joe the XB-70 is awesome, there were only two and one crashed during a photo shoot, The B-29 is the one that dropped the Nuke on Nagasaki, Japan in 1945 It's called "Boxcar", there is a B-52 inside that was retired fresh from Vietnam, also the Bell X1-B that Chuck Yeager went supersonic in is there, and the SR-71 is very cool too (I had to touch it) Apollo 15 re-entry vehicle and some moon rocks too. That place is amazing, Huge, and it's Free, The last time I went there was an un-beliveable display of WW2 stuff on loan from the National Arcive. They had the Flag that hung behind Hitlers desk in Berlin and the 6ft tall bronze eagle that was over the doorway, there were two, the Russins got one and we got the other. To see them was chilling, a reminder of how powerful and brutal the Nazi war machine was. There is also a restored Japaneese "Zero" on display, one of only a few left and maybe the only one in America, You will have a Great Time!

Kind of hard not to look when they're posted in the thread, isn't it? :rolleyes: The shots are composed fine, it's the over-saturated and over-sharpened Canon 'defect' that I can't stand which is why I didn't buy one and won't buy one.

See the black of the tires and the body in the first pic? I guarantee it didn't look anything like that in person. It's not accurate to true life and it looks artificial and plactic-like. I can make my Nikon look just as unnatural, just crank the saturation and sharpening sky-high

OK..I give up, Brent. What's plactic? The same was in your earlier response as well.

I thought the photos looked fine..but I'm not looking with a professional eye either.

It's easy to spot when you have a calibrated monitor. The plastic look is what happens when the saturation and sharpening are cranked up to ungodly levels like they are in most Canon DSLR's. The colors don't look natural at all, they have a 'plastic' look to them. Just look at the blacks in the first photo. The tires look like they've been dipped in plastic they're so deep black and shiny and fake looking. You ever seen a car with tires that black and dull black paint that looked that deep black? I know I sure never have.

Here's a visual example, taken with a Nikon D70:

Look at the reds and blues. See how they're cranked up to unnatural levels in the 2nd pic and look unrealistic? That's exactly what is wrong with 99% of the pics I see from Canon DSLR's, only they're usually even worse.
 
I have an easy solution: turn the sharpening DOWN! :rolleyes: If you're a professional photographer, why are you using in-camera sharping anyway?

The issue with Nikon SLR's that I have seen is that anything over ISO 800 is not that great. The Canon 30D at ISO 1600 is actually better than the Nikon D200 at ISO 800 from the photos I have seen.
 
In this day and age of Photo adjusting, Saturation, Sharpening, Contrast, etc.. It's pretty difficult to distinquish what the actuals were unless you go WAYY Overboard.
 
You'll love the AF Museum Joe. 2 years ago I took my step dad down there. He was 86 at the time. (88 now, and still bowls in the 180s!) We had a great time. The museum staff provided him with a motorized cart. See my AF Museum pics here.

Damn Bobby, those are sweet!!! Thanks for sharing them, I hope to someday make a boat race. They will really look good when you get the saturation down, or trade up to a nikon roflmao My canon takes junky shots also LOL
 
Wow Bobby!!! Those pics make me want to go to some boat races this year! I wish there was some type of drag racing forum for amateur photographers like myself were we could get tips to better ourselves. I know that I suck at photoshop when it comes to touching up my pics. How about it?

Well if the Canon sucks that bad..my Panasonic Lumix DMCC-FZ7 is in the quagmire. (love the Leica lens though)
