After all the complaints the past few weeks, I think its important to also give kudos when things are done right. Even with the bump that was a very even track. That second round of both nitro classes was one of the closest I remember seeing in a long time.

Did any pair in that second round have more than a car length between them? Great racing, great job setting up that track

Timmah<-----Is ready to eat some crow!

This race has got to be one that will go down as one of the best in recent years. Great Side by Side racing, Great Drama, and a Historic Final Round! ANTRON continues to Impress in Top Fuel, Mike EDWARDS (one of our sports best people) wins in Pro Stock, and Andrew Hines and that HARLEY team JUST LAY DOWN THE LAW in PSBike. Oh, yeah,....some lady named ASHLEY FORCE won in funny car too....!;)

NOW HERE IS WHERE THE NHRA BRASS WILL EITHER RISE TO THE TOP, OR KEEP TO THEIR HALF A$$ Ways....

Watch tomorrow around the media. How much TV Press will ASHLEY get for her win??? Will NHRA PROP the Fact that ANTRON BROWN has won 2 of 4 Finals in his 1st year in Top Fuel??? COME ON BOYZ...I'm DARIN YA!! PROVE US WRONG!

The only reason this race was good was because of the cloud cover and the mid-90s track temp all day, the NHRA dragged over some oil that they didn't clean up after Del oiled it, or was I watching a different race?

Yes the track appeared to be even all day. The low track and atmosphere temp sure did'nt hurt, but we saw some great racing. Give the benifit of the doubt to whoever prepared the track-good job.
there is one thing I don't understand though. If I'm not wrong I believe there were issues with track after the starting line pad was repaire/replaced? There was left a bump at about 150'. According to the annoucers this was NOT the transistion from concrete to ashphalt. If that was true why could that bump not been ground down even. They do it every day on most concrete road construction jobs around the country.
You were able to seehow it realy affected the short wheelbase cars,FC and Ps more than the TF cars today, that was untill Ashley ran her .83 in the final.

Mother nature prepaired the track today, the 150' is a patch job, to do it right all the concrete in that lane needed replacing.

I'm with ya Timmah... Talk about having a gold mine drop in your lap, especially with the GIANT urban markets of Chicago and New York rapidly approaching... If they don't make big press by Friday, hoist the Jolly Roger- we're goin' in!!! Time for the ones that care to run the ship...

alright if you're going to give all the credit to mother nature then in 2 months when its too hot and the sun is blistering the track then you can't blast the prep team for it. It will be mother natures fault then as well

All race tracks are prepped by mother nature with either hot or "cool" (hot mainly) weather, plus with the help of the NHRA prepping only one lane most of the time made for some very boring predictable racing for the most part of this year.
