AA/FC It's Larry Arnold's "Super Cuda" funny car

I took this shot of the Super Cuda at the old Carlisle Drag-O-Way in 1971. Bobby Rowe was the driver.

Edit: I just found a picture I shot of a different year Super Cuda. Also shot at Carlisle Drag-O-Way.

AA/FC A couple of X-ray photo's that drag magazines liked to do back in the day. These photo's are about
12 or 13 years apart. One of my favorite fuel funny car pilots Dale Pulde in the seat, both shot's.
Dale in Mickey Thompson's car and again in his own "Miller High Life Warrior" flopper.

AA/FC Just another favorite funny car when I was a kid. Nelson Carter's "Super Chief" saw this car at Seattle in June or July of 1971.
It was one of those Northwest vs. SoCal funny car meet. Tim Grose was in the seat. I believe Tim was only 19 years old at the time.

AA/FD 1980 and the self proclaimed "King of the Northwest" Jerry Ruth having a bad day. But wait, it
would get much, much worse for Ruth in the spring of 1984. But that's a story for another day.

AA/FC 1972 and the late Paul Radici getting crossed up on the burnout. (Below) One of my favorite
drag rags cover photo's is from the September 1972 issue of Popular Hot Rodding.
Paul is at Beach City Chevrolet car lot (SoCal) and shopping for a new AA/FC.

As the photo of the day portion of the program has come to an end. I will leave you with two fantastic photo's from
my friend here in the Northwest, Allan Kean (Canada). They were taken at Seattle in 1971 and 1972. Allan was 15
and 16 years old at the time. I was at both of these races, and yes, I miss those days!

AA/FC It's 1971 at Seattle and bar none one of the greatest drag racing photo
ever taken (for sure in the top two) No caption needed, if you don't know about
the photo you must be new to drag racing, or what the hell are you doing on this site?

AA/FC Northwest National Open Seattle 1972. Kenny Achs in the seat of his "Black Sheep Boutique of Alberta" Dodge Challenger
and in the other lane is none other than Jerry "The King" Ruth in his "Pay-n-Pak" (think Home Depot, before there was Home Depot)
Ford Mustang body flopper.
