So based on todays racing or lack thereof, tuners have become so spoiled with perfect traction they have no clue as how to slow them down for not optimal conditions.
Seemed like the low budget low power teams did well.

Not very many TF cars made it down the right lane. On Saturday if I counted correctly it was zero, first round 1, 2nd round 0, 3rd round 1, the final nope

Funny cars faired okay. 1st round 3, 2nd round 2-3, 3rd one.

The bump/launch pad 50’ off the starting line in that right lane was very challenging to navigate. For the long cars it unsettled the rear tires so bad.

Good news though the 1/8 mile bump was fixed.

Ken, nobody is spoiled. In my opinion, that track is terrible and has been for a few years now. It's so bad that we will never race there.

As said by someone else, at least they finally fixed the top end portion of it. So now you're not blowing the tires off with the front wheels in the air and vaporizing a supercharger.

two questions:
- why does nhra host a national event with a starting line in this poor of shape?
- i'm aware of erica's Q4 dnq and reason for it, but what exactly caused the scurfuffle on starting line yesterday? any idea who started it and why?

Response to Mike and Tony.
Tony, Didn't Burton tear up the track and do a quick and half-ass repair 5-10 years ago, as in nobody can tell me what to do?

Mike, Without knowing what happened, I'm thinking Elite team flipped out over the frustration of their poor performance this year. Obviously KB has been making them look silly.

And I question why doesn't NHRA have a say-so in track conditions ( poor pavement )

i bet the sportsman racers who pulled out and didn't attend are patting themselves on back.
i think one round of stock, and one round of a super class is all that got done over weekend.
almost entire elims are now scheduled to complete at jegs sportsnationals in georgia.
it looks like they tried to run SS E1 this morning (monday), and rained again.

Yes but I don't believe it wasn't just that. The kerfuffle over Elite's inner liners likely bothered KB when all of a sudden Erica picked up a bunch of 60-foot time and I'm guessing someone on the KB team mouthed off about it back in the pits. Something like "ha ha, can't win a race without running something illegal, got busted, didn't you?" or something similar. Combine that with the bad blood that already exists and it was game on.

Fox did a poor job capturing the incident. Hope corporate is noticing how awful the overall presentation has been. Recap after mindless recap, yap yap yap. Car sound is horrendous, all over the place on Fox, nonexistant on .TV.
NHRA: show some respect toward the sport, maybe a quality broadcast would bring quality ratings, which could mean a lot @ contract time?

I've said it 100 times. Fox Sports undoubtedly has access to the finest audio/visual equipment in the business, yet I've seen amateur video after video of fuel cars on YT that sounded infinitely better, some so good you'd think you were there live. And what happened to all the in-car videos? They've chopped out about 75 percent of them and the quality isn't any better than it was 25 years ago.

Here's one of Joe Haas' nostalgia FC. Not quite the ground pounder of the AA/FCs but this sucker sounds GOOD. Taken by an amateur, right behind the headers, not muffled, no audio clipping, just pure sound. Pop show at 1:08; no extra charge for the whacks. :)

...........yet I've seen amateur video after video of fuel cars on YT that sounded infinitely better...............
yeah it is odd that the fox presentation can't capture more realistic sound; and one more vote for less replays please. from the previous rounds
and previous races. i get the engine blowing up footage, but no need for recap after recap. some is ok, but it's overdone. more interviews. more drone
footage too, showing aerial images of venue and surrounding areas. how about some fan interviews?

They should present an event as a sport competition, not the bizarre documentary yap yap style they are using.
Start the broadcast with national anthem and first pair, no reason whatsoever to start with 15 minutes of yap yap and recaps of the the entire season.
NHRA ratings are not good enough to continue on a broadcast path of self destruction.
We have the fastest, most exciting sport on the planet, let’s show it a bit of respect

I say make it a 2-hour show. That way they can cut out a bunch of unnecessary filler and stick with content people care about. I almost always DVR the race and then go back and watch it a couple of hours later, FFing through the foo-foo and all the commercials. You'll see everything you want to see in less than 2 hours.

I know FS1 can't cut the commercials out of the broadcast but there's a lot of pork in those 3 hours.

It takes me about an hour to watch. I usually record and watch afterward. Skip the intro, forward to the race, bypass most interviews, commercials, and other segmemts.

Minus the fluff, they cpuld show all pro classes, pro mod, mountain motor ps or tf bike, etc easily in even a 2 hour window. Add all sportsmen finals also.

A 3 (or 4 hr) show could be great, so much going on. They could show the pros, followed by Alcohol (when available) maybe throw in a bit of P/Ms, T/S, Nitro bikes, go in the pits BETWEEN rounds (not in the middle of the burnout), show some warmups, get men (like Rob Wendland) that can correctly explain mechanical functions in interesting ways, talk to drivers BETWEEN rounds. When actual racing is going on the announcers could take a break, relax, until the actual racing is over then speak for a short minute, before the next pair fire, if an incident occurs they could discuss and show replays and super slow motion.
They HAVE to fix the car audio, to bring the symphony of Drag Racing to the home. (easily done with today's technology).

No matter what they do, the ratings do not justify a long term paid TV deal. Now is the time to fix broadcasting, doing the same poor quality (getting worse, not better) show over and over every event is the definition of insanity
