Steve Evans memorial group on Facebook!

Very cool, James. There may be many good ones..but I have a hard time putting them in his category. Well maybe Mac Man..put those 2 together and I'm spoiled.

I always knew when I was at a NHRA event walking in from parking..Mac announcing and Steve at the top end. I just got a goosebump.

I remember so clearly, I was at the Hilton, Steve's son Cam and Nick Arias lll and I were chatting at the Hilton, they were heading off to see what was goint on, In the morning we heard that Steve had passed away in his room.

I knew Steve since the 60s , we remained friends forever, he was a very talanted guy. I think his best asset was promoting drag racing event

The Fox Hunt

64 Funny Cars

Be There ,Be There

Over the years, many copied Steve's many ideas, and guess what, he loved it.

Never one to take credit, but share with all

We should all learn from Steve

Wonder if St Peter was ready for Evans

I remember meeting Steve in 1994 @ the Nationals @ e-town when he was riding around in his golfcart and I got to meet him, classy guy and he will be missed, The Current Announce team in Drag Racing in the Sky, Steve Evans at the Top End and Raceway Park's Sean Leary in the Booth yelling "Nitro Funny Car Burnouts! I Like It!!".

I don't have a Facebook account so the link does me no good. All I see is a sing-in page.... However, I just took this picture last Wednesday at the Garlits Museum in Florida.

Thanks for posting that link, I just joined up. I think everyone has certain voices and personalities that helped shape their views on news and sporting events. Jim McKay from Wide World of Sports, Howard Cosell and Don Meridith from MNF, Walker Cronkite from the Evening News, and of course Steve Evans and Big Mac from TNN. I still watch some of my old VHS tapes of the Diamond P coverages that I taped and the year end reviews that used to come with my membership package. The current announcers in all sports and news are good, just not the same. RIP Steve, you are missed.

Thanks for the link--I just joined up. He was without a doubt a one of a kind and one of the all time greats.:)
