Spenser Massey / Top Fuel owner (12 Viewers)

Getting some good exposure in the Greek-ette's ride will probably be helpful for him in his marketing proposal. Same car and crew- and improvement of about a tenth, as i recall. That's all about the driver; excellent selling point. Especially if the driver and owner are the same person.

If he is going to field a T/F Team on his own dime, while that is good news in terms of having another team out there, unless he has a major sponsor, this will be likely be another relatively short-lived deal like Mike Salinas, Shawn Reed, etc.
Haven't seen anything about Reed being done. Salinas was full time for 6 years before a medical problem put him on the sidelines.

This....

When is the last time someone won three races running three different sanctions the same year?

I can't even tell you the last time someone won races with two different sanctions in the same year. Maybe Doug Herbert?

It might have been Doug in 1999 when he won Rockingham and Topeka back-to-back.

He did win 3 races this year.
It took me a minute to remember the 3rd, but yes he won the Pro Star Shootout. He had such a great end of 2024, I expected him to run roughshod on people, but they didn't really put it together until after the accident. I wonder if him observing Jordan in the car helped out as well.

Probably Mark Oswald in the 80s.

In the interview Spencer says, it's all about having fun. He purchased the Lagana fuel car and plans to run a few NHRA and IHRA races. Planning for a debut at Gainesville after testing there. He'll do just fine, it's been 12 years since his tirade directed at then teammate Antron Brown you would think people would let it go and move on. Sad that every time his name is mentioned two things are talked about, he's learned and moved on.
Massey made amends to everyone involved; he's the one who paid the price and those directly affected have most certainly moved on. As for his financier I don't hold that against him any more than I hold anything against Justin Ashley for the alleged actions of his old man. Totally not fair.

From what I remember Massey was a pleasant person to be around, a lightning-quick driver back in the day and I hope he enjoys his time back in the saddle.

I know he ran one race in FC but can't recall if he won. He was subbing for Scott when Connie wanted to run the car and Scott wasn't available.
He was to run Densham at Norwalk. Something put the finals to Monday, Kalittas couldnt stay. 2007 I think. Same race Hillary Will won her first national event, IHRA World Nationals.

I believe Hillwill won her first at Norwalk. Some kinda crazy deal coming back from the an east coast race.
