Anywhere but Bakersfield at that time of the year, good chance I 5 could get snow and you will end up going to the Buck Owens muesum for three days ,you may want to check out Universal City or see the wierdos in Venice, go by Force's , he has a nice retail store and is only 15 minutes from DisneyLand, Have fun and bring your jacket, can be nippy in Feb
When they used to have the Bud Warm Up. Bako was the place to be. I saw Dixon have a nasty crash in Dons ride at the Warm Up the first time he drove it. And lots of other great action but no more.
Go to LA and have some fun lots to do down there.

I still think it was the best looking dragster I have ever seen. All black with gold Miller livery. While the later silver/blue Miller lite cars looked good that one was head and tails above. I was at about the 660' range and if I remember right Dixon had a slick let go at about 1000'. All I saw was a huge cloud of dust with parts flying out in every direction. Man it didnt look good. But Dixon walked away from it and in an interview he said "I cant belive I wreaked Don's car". You could tell he really felt bad about it. But it wasnt his falt at all. They really had to scramble to get another car out by the winters.
I think I have a pic of that car somewhere but it would take a while to find it. Anyone else have one?

Dixon first drove and got his license and stuff in Gainesville during Don's "Final Strike" tour in 1994.
As I recall, Dixon was in the left lane, and lost a tire just before the lights. I think he may have touched the left wall, and then the car fliped rolled once and he slid down the shut down area.
Oddly enough, Snake crashed at the same track in testing before his top fuel re-debut in 1990 when his front wing broke and he went over backwards.
