I think that's what they do in alcohol classes if the have a 14 car field. It eliminates 1 run from the program and makes you earn the by if you are 1 or 14.Brittany #1
Leah #2
Only 14 cars.
How do the bye runs not occur in the first round?
Didn't they technically earn their bye-runs since it's 16 car field that's short? I understand the "logic," just don't like it at all.I think that's what they do in alcohol classes if the have a 14 car field. It eliminates 1 run from the program and makes you earn the by if you are 1 or 14.
I don't like it, or understand it either. In a 15 car field, #1 always gets a first round bye, so why wouldn't #1 and #2 get first round bye runs? And in FC, I thought you had to put an ET on the board to qualify, so why do Hale and Lee get a spot in the field?Didn't they technically earn their bye-runs since it's 16 car field that's short? That's my thought process on the bye runs too.I don't like it, or understand it either. In a 15 car field, #1 always gets a first round bye, so why wouldn't #1 and #2 get first round bye runs? I still don't see how it's fair. It's a 16 car field, not 14.The winner of the #1, and #14 pair gets a bye run in round 2
The "fair" argument could be bad until you're blue in the face, but there is a precedent for this. I think it was Montreal in 1984.
I just happened to have my National Dragster from that race sitting nearby......
You just happened to have the ND for a race that was 31 years ago sitting nearby? AND you were able to find it?
Amazing.
Yup . . . I'm wrong. Like many others, don't think it's fair.Jim you are wrong. 14 car professional ladder has the bye to the 1 vs 14 round 1 winner. These ladders are years old .... no secrets if you know where to find them (the NHRA took them down a few years back, but they are still out there.
