loved watching the interviews with Shirley and Big Daddy etc. from Indy BUT WHERE WAS SNAKE????

Gone "Cold Turkey"....
Over, Done with it, Not coming back so there is No Need to Tempt Himself. Enjoying OTHER forms of auto racing.

The important thing is that There IS Life After Drag Racing:D And Snake is enjoying it:cool:

Karl , you usually know what yer talking about so ill take yer word on this. But hard to believe he can go cold turkey after the life he led the friends he made etc.

Or is it hard for the fans to believe he can go cold turkey after the life he led and the friends he made....

I'll tell ya something....I worked for Costco Wholesale for 13 years and I can't stand to go to the place today. When you see the same thing every day, do the same thing all the time, it's human nature to enjoy other things. Heck, I am starting to make a profession with Drag Racing and i gotta tell ya, it isn't as glamorous as one might think. Lots of LONG hours, hard work and only if you are the best one out there on any given Sunday...do you really reap the rewards....

I miss seeing snake out there as well, but if the guy is enjoying his retirement....more power to him.

He still talks with his friends and was at the March Meet and will probably attend the upcoming California Hot Rod Reunion at Famoso, Snake is having a fine old time.

Now you know why I never wanted to be on a Crew, it's a Job! Could not enjoy this sport doing what your doing. You probably missed a lot of action on the track.

i enjoy the hell out of the sport

MM, your love of the sport is in your genes....:D
(no, I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO not going there)
Mine was imprinted in junior high, with a short side trip into street racing (bad Move) walked away once, guess I could do it again....

Some people can hang it up, when the time is right... and everything I've read and heard Snake thinks it's time.

Check out some of the reunion stuff and Phil Burgess' coverage of the gathering at Snake's shop. Looks like he is having more fun than when he was fighting the NHRA circuit the last few years. Great to see a guy who has more than paid his dues enjoy the fruits of his labor.
