Matt Smith and his Nitrofish Buell head into the Mile-high track as the defending race winner. Last year Smith had never tuned on his own bike, but showed his talent and skills well as he conquered the track and won the race. This year, Smith hopes to do it again.

“We want to win again,” said Smith. “Last year we had our hands full, because we had no data or anything and we somehow seemed to make it work. This year we have a lot more info and hopefully we can pull it off again this year. The class is super tough right now, so hopefully we have our Buell in order and ready to run.”

The defending Champ sits third in the NHRA POWERade point standings right now, but he is looking to change his spot after this weekend’s race in Denver, Colorado.
