Matt Smith and his Nitrofish Buell head into Brainerd Raceway this weekend looking to turn heads. Smith not only wants to make others glance his way when he runs fast, but he wants them to look at his flashy new Buell as well.

After Denver, Smith pieced together his new bike. He worked for a solid week straight, getting it ready and running it on the Denver track before heading to Sonoma. With his new piece running well and only needing a coat of paint, Smith headed to Indy after Sonoma to drop off the body.

Not only will Smith debut his new Buell this weekend, but Smith will also debut his new Nitrofish paint scheme. Smith hopes the blue and yellow machine turns heads in more ways than one.

“This new bike is pretty hateful,” said Smith. “We tested it before Sonoma and it ran well. We would have run it at Sonoma, but it was all carbon fiber, no paint, so we waited until this weekend. The paint job is amazing, hopefully fans will like it. Brainerd is a lot of fun, so we thought we would bring it out here. We want to have it broke in by the time the Countdown gets here, so we figured now was the time.”

Smith sits second in the NHRA POWERade Championship point standings and he wants to lock in his spot for the Countdown this weekend at the Lucas Oil Nationals in Brainerd, Minnesota.
