He has a better chance in IHRA for surei would bet against it. i also hope karma kicks me in the *ss, in brainerd.
He has a better chance in IHRA for sure
Just remember with that technology comes a price increase. Their engine is mostly just electronics for the Redbull Bull Power System, RedBull has their own in house engine program for 2 teams,I look forward to seeing what technology Ford F1 and LeMans brings to Tasca/Prock, and how long it takes NHRA to find it and determine that it is "outside of the spirit of the rules"... With that kind of data in the hands of 1320 engineers, just an adjustment of an angle could be worth a couple of hundreths, either in the way the parts work, or more importantly, how the parts work with the driver... #RT
As I recall, the biggest "frowned upon" things on the past few years have been miniscule mods that were caught due to.... well, snitches, supposedly....
Probably have to ask Alan about the engine stuff, but I think most of the parameters of a Fuel Motor are in the regulations, precisely to keep guys from spending too much money.
I think for quite some time that F-1 has used over head cam designs, be interesting to see what they can do with a center cam motor with lifters and push rodsI look forward to seeing what technology Ford F1 and LeMans brings to Tasca/Prock, and how long it takes NHRA to find it and determine that it is "outside of the spirit of the rules"... I remember, I think it was the end of the 2024 season, at Las Vegas where Bob Tasca and a few others got pinched for their car width being like 1/4 of an inch too much. When they interviewed him he insinuated that Jim Prock tattled too if I remember right. Bob has always had a fiery personality so I’m interested to see where this all goes if the rumors are true.As I recall, the biggest "frowned upon" things on the past few years have been miniscule mods that were caught due to.... well, snitches, supposedly.
Manifold mods, injector hat mods, header layback mods... all which probably would have rolled on unnoticed had it been gradual performance improvement. Was it BT3 that had body issues that initially made it through the template (or was that the Mustaro?)

I was commenting on drag race motors with center cams not F-1 going back to center camsThey are staying with OHC, they also use pneumatics in place of springs to close the valves
How the Pneumatic System Works
- Camshaft Action: The camshaft pushes down on the valve, similar to a normal engine.
- Pressurized Nitrogen: Instead of a spring, a small cylinder containing pressurized nitrogen (around 10 bar) acts as the spring.
- Valve Return: When the camshaft lobe moves away, the compressed nitrogen pushes the valve back to its closed position rapidly and consistently.
- Nitrogen Benefits: Nitrogen's stable density at high temperatures maintains consistent pressure, preventing valve float and corrosion.
- Pressure Release: A small valve releases excess pressure or oil buildup, ensuring proper function.
All I know is, it wasn't me.anyone know the person in arkansas who won the powerball? find him/her and bring to drag race, if they haven't been already.
Have them blow it all reviving AHRA. They can bring back Beeline, Dallas International, US 30 & OCIR.anyone know the person in arkansas who won the powerball? find him/her and bring to drag race, if they haven't been already.
Tony you read my mind, I drive Hwy 30 from home to work everyday, Could we put it in Iowa this time? Growing up in the 60's and 70's, my neighbor with a hot 67 Chevelle was obsessed with racing his car at OCIR someday. He moved out there in '75 and we lost track of him, I hope he got his wish. I am so envious of you guys that experienced OCIR, Lions, and all the other great old tracks! More stories please !Have them blow it all reviving AHRA. Yes and the name on the side of the car is,anyone know the person in arkansas who won the powerball? find him/her and bring to drag race, if they haven't been already.
did the same thing with my dad's 66 Rambler American 199 ci 6 with 3 on the tree at old San Antonio Drag Raceway. Have no idea where the trophy is now. I think it ran 19. somethingChris, Lions "story". When Lions was AHRA, I had a 1966 Flacon with straight 6 & "3 on the tree". I looked at rule book, & my car fit into 2 different stock classes. So on 2 occasions, I took my 20 second Falcon to Lions & got the trophy, cuz I was only one in my class. Some years later, thought those were hollow victory's, so got rid of the trophies. (Do have a photo of them). Years later, kicked myself in the butt for getting rid of them. Still, I can say that I trophied at Lions. BTW, those were AHRA points races, which is why I ran class.
Cliff, I wish I knew how to post a picture on here as I have a picture from that my long time friend who passed away Dec31th 2011. Bruce Schwartz was a racer and announcer and He won D/Stock at Lion on January 16th, 1961, ET 17.75 and a speed of 77.92 MPH. So glad I got this trophy before he passed.Chris, Lions "story".
