Seattle track problems?

how could the NHRA continue to hold the race here and not pull the plug on thursday. Yeah, it's money. but is it worth teams breakin stuff and spending big money just to MAYBE get down

Capps just tweeted that the track is in better condition today after the safety safari worked on it.

WILK #1 with a 4.10 in 3rd session.......go tim!
BROWN #1 with a 3.80 in 3rd session

probably not the rite thread for this, but larry d. is #12 thru 3 sessions @ 3.96

what are chances AJ is testing on larry's car? playoff races he will be a
twin to del?

Seems like things were much better today. I didn't get to stay and watch all of the fourth round because my toddler was cranky and I needed to bring her home for a nap.

They announced over the loud speaker at one point that crews spent six hours last night working on the track ... so, it seems like that made the difference.

Still, yesterday was a shame for sure. Hopefully all involved learned from it.

Looks like cloudy and 76 tomorrow according to the weather app on my phone, which of course is not as accurate as the weather stations the teams have, but it's close.

In any case, it was a better day.

Rick Stewart told me the problem was the traction compound used by the raceway was.not compatible with the traction compound used by the NHRA. They scrubbed the. track overnight and sprayed it. Both lanes seemed equal to us in TA/FC today, saturday.

Goes to show how poor the ownership is here!!!

Heck, they won't even sell Full Throttle @ this event!!! Even tho they have a contract w/Coke(& sell Powerade), they sell another brand(can't remember which)! They were "forced" to sell it either last year or the year before for the Nats only, but not this year!!!

Please, Wilky, take over this dump!!!
:D ;) :D

Eh, stuff happens. Sometimes everyone on all sides assumes they're all on the same page.

I suppose if you wanted to express equal opportunity outrage, you could point a finger at the Safari person responsible and ask why they didn't find out what the track was usuing before their stuff got put down.
;)

Track seemed to be fine yesterday. Some teams were picking the "favored" lane and losing.

This explanation seems fishy to me. I thought the Safari's typical process is to scrape the track down to bare early in the week and build it back up themselves. No?
