Seattle general admission sell out?

Just a quick question: I may be headed to Seattle on business this weekend and want to take my 15 year old son who is a huge Tony Shoe fan. But I'm not 100% sure I can make it yet and am reluctant to buy tickets until I know for sure. What is the possibility of buying at the gate? I'd hate to eat a couple tickets but would rather do that than show up and have no tickets. Thanks

The worst you are looking at would be standing room only. I don't think they will sell out of GA.

Thanks John. In that case I'll buy at the gate. It looks like a good chance of rain Sunday, but I'll be there anyway.

I know this isn't Seattle, but the past several years I have approached the gate at Madison to purchase GA tickets on an early Friday afternoon only to be told that GA was sold out and I would have to buy a reserved seat. You will never convince me that GA was sold out for the day, in fact the stands were 1/4 full at the most.

I've been to Sears Point more than once when it sold out, but I've never been to Seattle so I don't know what to expect. Looks like a 50% chance of rain on Sunday.

I'm going to be the optimist here. From what I can see there is currently a 20%-30% chance of rain and it moves in later in the afternoon. ;)

I will tell you to be prepared to wait in line for awhile if you decide to purchase at the gate.
At this late time, what suggestions do you have? I'm 100% sure I'll be there now so I'm willing to buy the tickets online, but can I print them out or anything else to avoid the wait? Any help is appreciated!

wait in what lines?....just get there early....show me 2.0 ratings or above on fox, and then maybe?, maybe nhra will
sell every seat in the house.......still a great show, still optimistic, saturdays are the day to be there.....would be better
with sat. elims. under the lites......pros only , with jets, fireworks, and other exhibition between rounds.
the 'big show' within a show.....kinda' like the old days.

For a qualifying day, it was packed out today. And what a show it was with the "mineshaft" conditions.

The weather looked incredible. Sure a big improvement from the few times I was there when I lived in Portland and the temps were always in the high 80's - mid 90's all three days!

Great performances the last two days here. Nice to finally see this place put up big numbers! Been a lot of years where I swore I'd never come back....

The Saturday crowd was impressive to say the least. I was on my way to the track Saturday morning, and like the idiot that I am, I was 5 minutes from the track, when I realized that I didn't bring my wallet. So I had to turn around and drive the 70 mile round trip from Kent to Redmond and back. It was about 10:30 A.M. by the time I made it back to the track, and the attendants collecting the $10 for parking in the grass field ran out of dashboard tickets, and they were cramming the incoming cars into the last 10% of unfilled grass. I was amazed at the size of the crowd in the pitside grandstands, Most of the seats were filled, and they were lining the fence as well. I'd say that even though the drags were competing with the hydroplane races, this weekend was an absolute success.

Happened to me on two occasions Mike, in Dallas around 97-98? Got parked, gathering my things...Camera, Sunscreen, etc.... Finally I'm looking for my ticket, left it at the motel 35 miles away! Back to Duncanville! This spring in Houston I'm about 30 seconds from a parking space, when I realize I left my camera at the Motel! Aaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!

Huge crowd on Saturday. I lucked out and was able to score a VIP parking pass for the wknd and we parked up against the fence, literally 100 yds from the gate. Saturday morning my brother in law says we better get in line to go in. I tell him that's the line to buy tickets! It went well beyond where we were parked. Also, it looked like a nightmare getting out, but fortunately VIP has its own lane.
I'm still abuzz over what we saw up there. Probably one of the top 5 best races I've ever been to....easily the best one at that track.

I was there on Sunday and I gotta say it was hands-down the best drag race I've ever been to! It was my 15 year old sons first time seeing nitro cars and he's hooked. The Seattle facilities are awesome! Not because it's a state of the art mega track, I've seen enough of those soulless places. It's got something special, a real small town feel. I have something else to say, the NHRA gets major kudos for the show as well. They took a soaking wet track and made it perfect in about an hour. The tribute to Mark Lyle was both well done and touching. This is also the first time I've been to a national event since the Bob Frey days and I gotta say, Alan is awesome! He's funny, informative, and keeps you from being bored. I whine as much as anyone about the way racing is today, but I needed to see it in person to realize how far the sport has come since I last saw it live. The NHRA and Pacific Raceways have made me want to come back every year.
