Rowe hoping to capture points lead

CAYUGA, ON - The IHRA eMax Drag Racing Series and Torco CompetitionPlus.com Pro Modified class is finally getting their race day at the Canadian Nationals and Saturday nights "Night of Fire" presented by NitroMoose.ca.

With the points chase very close, Rowe who is only three points behind the leader, is looking to capitalize on the chance to grasp the lead.

“I feel good with what we’ve done and where we’re at,” said Rowe. “Things are coming down to the nitty-gritty and we can’t make any mistakes. The car is running well and we’re comfortable with everything. We’ve just got to be able to capitalize on things when we are running well.”

With the increasing speeds in the Pro Modified class, the competition in the entire field is getting tougher. Despite the record setting ET’s, Rowe is sure the consistency of himself and his Jimmy Rector led team can prevail.

“We run our own game,” said Rowe. “We know we can put-up a number and the confidence of the team is good. We can run with everybody. We have to make the decision to run what we can put on the track. It’s not a matter of going up there and shoot for the stars each pass; we want to go up and run consistency. I think that is why we have done well in the points. We are very consistent.”

Rowe went on to comment, “There is a good chance the numbers will be huge this weekend. If the weather holds out, the air will be unbelievable. There is a chance of rain on Saturday, but we’ll see. It is definitely a very important weekend. We just want to go out there and go down the track.”

Danny Rowe and team would like to thank Gainsborough Capital, NGK Sparkplugs, Hoosier Tires, Redline Oil, and Weld Racing for their continued support.

The next IHRA eMax Drag Racing Series race is a rain make-up race, The IHRA Canadian Nationals Toronto Motorsports Park, Cayuga, ON Sep. 22-24, 2006.
