DANNY ROWE STILL WORKING TOWARDS POINTS LEAD

September 11, 2006 ( Epping , NH ) - With valuable points on the line during the IHRA Amalie Oil North American Nationals presented by New England Dodge Dealers at New England Dragway, Danny Rowe was hoping to take over the lead from Glenn Kerunsky in the Pro Modified class. Heading into this race, Kerunsky led by only six points, but after an action packed weekend, Rowe was able to close the gap even more. After the event, Kerunsky leads by a mere three points.

Although Rowe was able to gain more ground towards the Championship, the weekend was a tough battle. Qualifying in the No. 11 spot with a 6.16, 232.47 MPH, Rowe felt his constancy would allow him to go rounds.

"First round of eliminations - it was kind of a one lane race track," said Rowe. "Everybody who was in the left lane shook, so we knew we knew we were going to have a pedal fest and we really had to get after it. Carl Spiering was running really well, and so we got after it. Fortunately or unfortunately, he red lit and we went out and pedaled it. We did what we had to do and we got the win anyway. Second round we went out there and had Harold Martin. We did great. Everything went perfect, except we had an oil down. We had .05 on the tree and .05 at the 60 foot, so we almost had a .10 by 60 feet; we were way out on him, but we had some oil under the tires and almost put me into the wall."

With Kerunsky loosing in round one of competition and Rowe went to round two he was able to grasp the lead in points. However, due to the oil down on the track, Rowe was given a points fine and is left still three points shy.

Despite the series of circumstances during the event, Rowe felt his team performed very well stating, "We're running as well as most the cars out there, and we're doing great. It was a great race. We have three more events, 12 more rounds of racing, and we're at a point where we can capitalize on that."

Danny Rowe and team would like to thank Gainsborough Capital, NGK Sparkplugs, Hoosier Tires, Redline Oil, and Weld Racing for their continued support.

The next IHRA eMax Drag Racing Series race is a rain make-up race, The IHRA Canadian Nationals Toronto Motorsports Park, Cayuga, ON Sep. 22-24, 2006.
