Roush in Plane Crash

A good friend of mine talked to Jack today, and Jack told him that Kurt Bush spun him out just after landing.

All kidding aside, 2 plane crashes in 8 years BOTH attributable to pilot error ... time to hire someone to fly him around methinks ...

I hate to see that aircraft destroyed too. That's a high $$ jet, considered to be the most advanced single-pilot bizjet on the planet. Looks like he started his landing flare a bit too late. Geezus - isn't that one of the first things they teach you - how to land?

Hope he and his passenger end up OK.

ESPN said this morning that Roush was cleared to land and some other plane was in the area trying to land at the same time and didnt have a radio onboard so the tower couldnt get ahold of it. So Roush had to divert on his landing to avoid a head on collision.

So maybe its not that much his fault.

There's 2 sides to every story! I doubt Jack ran out of talent. He's a very smart guy.

I'll wait until the NTSB makes their final report before coming to any conclusions about this incident. They have one of the best accident investigation arms in the world.

I read that the nose touched first, spinning the plane 180 degrees and severing the tail section in the process. Then I read that the right wing touched first, causing the plane to cartwheel several times.

I guess plane crashes are no different that race crashes. You'll get 10 versions before NTSB sorts out the correct one. Best to not speculate, other than Jack Roush and his gal pal are very lucky to be alive. More often than not, such a crash would have resulted in a huge fire.

That was new information today then ... preliminary reports were that Jack just set it down too hard and fast. In any event, glad he will be OK and I hope that he will consider getting out of the left seat on a full time basis.

I've been to the EAA event several times and there are hundreds of large and small planes landing and taking off around the clock. Busier than an airport at a major city. It's normal for at least a couple mishaps each year.
