One of drag racing's great leaders and friend. Bob will always be remembered for his kindness and encouragement. He was my friend for many, many years and will be sadly missed by all. He was a racing icon that left us with so many good memories.
If I remember right, Bob founded Strange Engineering. Sponsored the Greek for many years. Story I heard was that people couldn't pronounce or spell his last name, so someone came up with "Strange" and it stuck. Company is still in business.

After reading the Comp Plus article, it dawned on me that Chicago area had such a tremendous effect on Drag Racing.
Just thinking about all the people that helped in the beginning of the sport.
