Is anyone other than Fox News reporting this? I heard that Chavez took over the last private broadcasting service, which was also the most popular, and that there's rioting all over the country and no reporting of it at all on their government run news services.

Can this be discussed as a world event without someone deeming it to be political? I'm not posting this as a test to that. I'm seriously asking. Can we discuss the nuts and bolts of it without anyone trying to qualify or disqualify any statements based on political leanings?

Overhyped by Fox, Ron... Talked to my friend Lina in Caracas and she let me know that, although they are kinda ticked off that the govenment took over ONE TV station (because of "unwholesome" subject matter and not always flattering reports on their Prez), the "riots" reported by Fox are just fans of that network being a bit vocal that some of their favorite "stories" have been cut off as well mid-storyline... She says its not much more than that, kind of like if Bush shut down PBS..:D

Like others before him he will end up with a bullet in the brain or ambassador to Spain.

I bet those folks that couldn't afford heating oil last winter in the northeast would differ with you, Tony...

There was a group of Native Americans who turned down the free oil, and there is no one more impoverished in this country then they are. They know what Chevez is about, they know he hates America, and they declined to take the oil. Good for them!
