I can see a driver in his first NHRA race ( Dom Lagana for example, who did a GREAT job) losing concentration - although a red light would be more likely.
But . . . a driver who has 500 round wins? Inexcusable!
There's a reason why Larry has 500 round wins and it's not by being late. I don't know what's going on. I'm just as mystified as you.

Relax people, Larry is just as human and imperfect as the next guy and makes mistakes like all the rest do. Still plenty of season to go and they've already won one race already so in my opinion I think we should give him a break.

And . . . speaking of Tony Shumacher. Isn't he the guy who lost his entire team and was predicted to never win another race? Al Anabi better be glad for the Countdown (which they will make, because there are only 7 or 8 competitive Fuelers out there) because without that BS, Tony would probably have the championship wrapped up by Indy - again.
None of us are PAID to drive a TF with an unlimited budget and supposedly unlimited talent - "messed up" is definitely the wrong term in this situation.

Larry and team will be just fine. The real season doesn't start until September, so all they need to do is stay in the top 10 and experiment until the points count for the championship. I find it ironic the people who bashed Tony Schumacher and said he would never win again are silenced. Like I said earlier in the year, this year in TF will be a tight race which will go down to Pomona to crown a champ.
