What's his problem? 255 light and runs the quickest time of the event!
Congrats to Del and Aaron they have it sorted out. Dixon needs to get it together.

I can see a driver in his first NHRA race ( Dom Lagana for example, who did a GREAT job) losing concentration - although a red light would be more likely.
But . . . a driver who has 500 round wins? Inexcusable!

Larry's RT has been off all year. At first I thought maybe the Al Anabi car reacts slower than the US Tobacco car did. Or, I maybe I thought it could be the new timing system for the tree throwing him off. BUT, a .255 RT is ridiculous. I could fart in the time it took him to hit the loud pedal. I find it hard to believe he was just dead late. He's too good of a driver. Something had to distract him.

Larry, if you're reading this, you know I'm one of your biggest fans. I'm still pulling for you. Gather it up man, you're too good of a driver to let that happen. But then again, when I see John Force cross the center line as badly as he did, I realize all the best drivers can make mistakes. You'll get it together and be there in September. I have faith in you bro!!!

There's a reason why Larry has 500 round wins and it's not by being late. I don't know what's going on. I'm just as mystified as you.

That's my point he is a great driver and he is getting the tree handed to him!
I know he will sort it out but he is giving rounds away.
To give credit were its due Tony Schumacher is on his game right now.

Relax people, Larry is just as human and imperfect as the next guy and makes mistakes like all the rest do. Still plenty of season to go and they've already won one race already so in my opinion I think we should give him a break.

nuh uh Charles......he is a professional and that means he is superhuman and as someone else said one mistake is INEXCUSABLE!!:rolleyes:

geeeez some of you people need to get a freakin hobby

glad to see none of you ever messed up while driving your top fueler

None of us are PAID to drive a TF with an unlimited budget and supposedly unlimited talent - "messed up" is definitely the wrong term in this situation.

And . . . speaking of Tony Shumacher. Isn't he the guy who lost his entire team and was predicted to never win another race? Al Anabi better be glad for the Countdown (which they will make, because there are only 7 or 8 competitive Fuelers out there) because without that BS, Tony would probably have the championship wrapped up by Indy - again.

Very good point and well taken. :)

The only time I've ever driven a top fuel car is in the NHRA Drag Racing2 computer game. Even then, I keep crashing only to have Joe Amato tell me what a lousy driver I am (I have an older version of the game).

The key word is "probably." I'm very impressed with the Sarge so far, but he still has to deal with Antron, Brandon, the Lucas cars, Kalitta and YES Dixon. We'll see by September.

I am certainly not going to pick on Larry for being late ONCE. The guy is one of the baddest dudes to ever strap in a hot rod.

Any way you slice it, the Al Anabi team had a FANTASTIC weekend. LD got his 500th round win and Del won the race and all anyone wants to talk about is one bad bulb? Bad form in Materland tonight IMO ...

We'll see who is in 1st place by indy and whos not. This is only the 8th race remember? And how are your reaction times lately?

In hindsite, (which of course is 20-20), I was very upset with Larry's RT, because I'm a huge fan and it really bummed me out. I have confidence in him though. He's way too good for something like this to happen. He WILL be there in September.

It's amazing that there's a thread about Larry's RT, when at the same event, John Force almost hurt Fast Jack. No theads, so far, about that. Perhaps John could take some pointers off of Ashley as to when to let off the throttle. She quit making that mistake two years ago. But then again, seasoned vets will make their mistakes once in a while.

I noticed in the opening of the show LD was shown sitting in the tow vehicle and using eye drops. I replayed the sequence to be sure. He could have a nasty case of hay fever or something else causing physical issues that don't disqualify him from driving but hinder his reaction time. Heck maybe he was about to sneeze today.

I'm not a huge LD fan but I also remember when Scelzi was written off as being afraid or unable to dive a FC (the Toyota). Maybe LD is going though a similar rough patch.

Cut these guys and gals a little slack.

Larry and team will be just fine. The real season doesn't start until September, so all they need to do is stay in the top 10 and experiment until the points count for the championship. I find it ironic the people who bashed Tony Schumacher and said he would never win again are silenced. Like I said earlier in the year, this year in TF will be a tight race which will go down to Pomona to crown a champ.

I will say it again! Never questioned Tony's driving ability but if Mike Green didn't have Alan's logs that were left with the team then Tony wouldn't be were he is right now. That's just a fact! A really big fact!
