I went to it and thought it was WELL worth the $80 price. Food was good, the company was awesome, and the stories told were priceless.

Anyone know if you can buy a DVD of it???

The Garlits Roast was recorded on five cameras, Traci Hrudka at the Quarter Mile Foundation said they intend to release a DVD. It will certainly be announced at their Project 1320 website.

It was a very good and funny Roast with plenty of personal racing stories, you will probably enjoy!

Thanks---I will watch for it and order one when it becomes available. I still laugh at the Kalitta roast DVD and I would imagine the Garlits one would be no less entertaining.

My favorite image of the weekend:
Big Mac - Dave McClelland kissing Big Daddy - Don Garlits on the forehead at the end of his roast!!

Second favorite:
Linda Vaughn, dressed as Marlyn Monroe, signing Happy Birthday to Don {like the famous John Kennedy BD}:D:D

Terrific evening!!

DG

FYI...Don suffered a mini stroke on Sunday. According to his grand nephew Chris Garlits, he was released from the hospital on Monday and is resting at home.

Got a real nice email reply from Traci Hrudka. She says the DVD will be available on the site as soon as it is completed. I look forward to it.:)

I hate to hear that. I was at the museum a couple of weeks ago and had a long visit with the lady that was running the old car museum. She said this has really been a bad year and teared up talking about losing TC. Hope Big returns to normal real soon.
